so far this weekend (as of 2:15pm sunday) i've worked 15 hours (at my "real" job) and attended the mizzou/texas a&m football game. i've got about 12-16 hours more to work before i go home tonight. it's hard to get anything done on a hot rod on the weekends when you spend all the hours at your job.

Changed the oil in the '36. It actually changes its' own oil as it runs but I officially changed it. Changed the front hubs on the Y2kota (tm). Oh yeah, bought a P-38 Belly Tank. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif Wayno

Wow Wayno! A P38 tank! Cool!
I worked my ass off takin' my Triumph apart... I got it all done, it's a stack of parts now. That bike looked so shitty! Haha!
Now I can start making modifications to the frame, rebuild the motor, polish and chrome some parts, etc...
I can't wait to get the rolling chassis together again, but first I have to wait for some parts to arrive from the U.S....

well,im sitting here wishing someone would stop by and help me bleed the brakes. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif i was hoping id get to drive it down the street, but i still need a few things i need to do anyways
i ran all the brake lines & hoses yesterday, bench bleed the MC, ran fuel line all the way back,BUT i need to mount them to the frame.hooked up rad hoses & fan belt, the charging system is working, reworked a gas pedal assembly(i still need to adress some issues on the pedal, but it works temporarly for now).
it seems like i spent more time running to the parts house than working http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif hehehe
i guess theres always next weekend...hahaaha

Installed my new Packard lights in the Cart.. Got a nasty brake line leak coming right out of the master cylinder on the Coupe. Gotta get a new fitting..Junkyarding on Saturday with the So-What crew..
Spike
Sammy R., the fork truck guys at the plant Where I used to spend my days use a little pump with a resivoir filled with brake fluid.
The bleeder farthest down the line is opened and the highest or nearest bleeder is opened. Fluid is forced into the system and any air is forced upstream to the other open bleeder.
Dont know why that would not work on a car.
That way one person can do the job..
Since our company bought the pump, it cant be very costly.

I took a look at the small picture.(rather than the big one)
I made a list of things I can do to the cars that don't cost anything.
grinding,sanding,prepping etc.
...and contemplated selling one to fund the other

I īve assembled the heads of my 327 and painted them, rebuilt my tranny with new seals, found out that I donīt have no more tranny oil filters and that tranny oil pans can rust through. Then I scored an almost new 5 speed Borg Warner tranny with a new GM bellhousing( fits sbc for sure, but has more bolt holes than necessary for sbcīs. Maybe it also fits Buick, Olds, Pontiac V8????)including a new clutch, new bearing and all linkages at a garage sale. After that Iīve mounted two tyres on rims and hung around on the HAMB. Now itīs almost midnight over here, another weekend done...

Lots of Little Dumb Stuff on my 51 Chevy....
Got the auto-canceling turn signals fixed with some general McGuyver-esque rigging
Got the passengers side door latch working (would only release from the inside)
Fixed my spot lights! (turned out to just be a blown in line fuse)
Installed my Dad's vintage wolf whistle! (very fun and cool)
Ordered my fabric for my new interior which will be done in snow-leopard upholstery velvet...

Went to Chicago for a study tour. We saw the Heyman Corporation, Sears, Hart Schaffner & Marx, Field Museum, and the Art Institute. For class credit we had to find inspiration for a clothing line by shopping on Michigan Avenue/ Miracle Mile.
The best parts by far were the shopping, Chicago Style pizza, and watching my girlfriends dance on the bar at Coyote Ugly... I wasn't up there though, I can't dance.

I pulled off a pretty big open house/party at my shop. Took a week worth of prep.
We served 30 burgers, 30 dogs and four huge briskets, three gallons of pasta salad, couple dozen corn cobs, couple gallons of potato salad and enough beer and soda to fill a three cubic yard dumpster.
Oh yeah we ran enough laps on the NASCAR simulator to run two actual races!

Also replaced two disintegrated front spring perch bushings - my good buddy Danny Burroughs is crafting me a replacement stainless shaft/bolt since mine was boogered up.

Saturday morning went Junk yard hoppin' with my son
Saturday afternoon started making my version of a 34 grill. Thanks again Crease for the measurements!
About 7:00 PM Saturday night started a all night chop party at a buds house. We chopped 4 inches out of his 29 Sedan.
Sunday worked on the grill some more, then went over to another friends house and help him tune his blown 350.
Great weekend! But now I feel I got more done on other's rides than on mine!!!

I was in Mustang heaven... the GT 500 is a very sweet ride. I took some pics.. I'll see if I can upload them. Went by the show at Jack Lowrodders for about an hour too. Worked on shaping my new guage panel, and helped put a nose on a 57 bug that had been baja'd. A model builder's club meeting. Worked at the station this weekend, but around that was dodging rainstorms to get (even minimal) bodywork done on the cab. Bought my first digital cam, messed with it and found out why it's only $25, should of gotten back into teaching the gf's son to rebuild a carb. Speaking of which- Plan 9, the UPS reimbursement check is in the Monday mail- thanks!
Mostly waiting for dryer weather. At least I was gonna have to be at work this weekend, anyway.

Got ready for winter. Moved shit around in the garage so I could put the Bugeye away and make room for the snowblower.
Then loaded a bunch of '32 parts into the '54 Chebby pickup so I can haul it all to the chassis shop this week. Looks good with a nailhead strapped into the bed. Found my old aluminum skull shift-knob in the process -- one that looks like a high-school shop project.
Also stopped at an estate/barn sale and bought some junk, including an old military-strength shop chair. Damn thing looks like it should be mounted on a tank. One of the other things was an old "Road Knights" car club plaque that wasn't priced. The guy just said "take it." Cool.

I reinvented the wheel. I wanted the convenience of power windows with the look of original rollups. I made little gizmos out of 3 body washers and some steel rod that will activate the car's standard window switch by moving the widow crank handle up or down. The switch is hidden inside the door. I know, I know these are commercially available made from billet for $100 each. I just cringed when I thought about paying that for something that might look a little nicer but would be hidden inside the door and so never seen. I built in stops too so even a linebacker would have a very hard time forcing the handle.

I realized that, after much denial, I blew the head gasket on the Y-block in my '56
On the bright side, I did it (I think)while racing an Audi.
We were on the way to Superdawg. This hotshot in an Audi pulls up next to me at a light. I knew there was a huge pothole in his lane & I knew he would try to race me. (After all, I have almost a 50 year-old motor in there. Besides, I had my buddy Pauly from Ireland in there. I had to make a good impression of Americans!
Anyway, the light turned green, I went first without a chirp. He went. I held him off until I knew he smacked the hole.
Mr & Mrs Oilcan said the sparks were pretty!

I found out I have a FMX trans behind my 289 for my rpu. This was after I bought a Lokar C4 shifter a year ago, I'll bet they won't take it back and exchange for the FMX version. But I did get my starter stripped and painted, same with my headlights. I also welded the end flange for my glasspacks on one of my headers and got it painted. Progress is progress.
