Hi Guys, I am a newbie oldtimer. I am a tool and diemaker by trade. In the early 60s I built a hot rod 1931 Model A coupe 283 chevy powered. I sold it in 1974 to finish building my house. Broke my heart. In 1977 I bought a running 1928 tudor that I have been driving and working on since. It has a counter balanced crank that I did myself,.060 over bore,Brumfield head,Bill Stipes cam,Scalded Dog downdraft manifold,Holley 94 carb,Mallory distributor,Ron Kelley harmonic balanced flywheel,3.54 rearend.I am just finishing installing a Borg Warner T-5 tranny from a Chevy S10. Work in progress!!
I don't know if this the proper plase to post a question but does anyone know if someone out there has moved the shift location to the top transmission cover of a T-5 4bangers forever

4banger - all questions will be answered in the monthly Banger meet. Just type Banger in the search block and repost your question in there. Look for CrazyDaddyO - he is the all-knowing Banger/T-5 man.

I too have a T-5 behind my banger. The shift location works well for me, but if you want to move it forward I think it can be done. Although I've never seen one, I've read that the van version had the shifter relocated up on or near the bellhousing.
