Need your experience. My son and I are ready to build the 29 Special coupe. It's been in the family since 57, pulled it out of a barn, Dad and I drove it home with all the chicken shit all over the car. It has been in the dry ever since then. I've looked at the wood and it seems that we don't have any rot or if it is, then it's pretty well hidden. The rear cab and top are excellent. Dad fiberglassed the top in around 1961 and added 40 Ford hydraulic brakes instead of the mechanical model A orginals. He also added a Columbia 2 spd rear end and changed the carb because he wanted to go a little faster. Anway, we want to put a TCI type chassis under it (I've started looking) and build the car. Question is... Do you guys see danger in the orginal Model A wood and what is necessary? Do I need to think about replacing all the wood or putting in steel instead?
