Ok. I'm being retarded here. I signed up for starphoto http://photo.starblvd.net/59ford . I've posted pics here before. Now when I go into starphoto and right click, my photos don't show up with a jpg any where in the properities. Usaully you hit the image button, then paste your starphoto pic, then delete all the crap up until jpg.(which is not there now)
Question is, What the hell am I doing wrong here.

Your not doing anything wrong, Star changed alittle. Here is the complete URL address of one of my photos from there.

AdventuresinBigOlds/1-1-1

the begining is the name of the album, the first 1 means the first "page" in that album. The second 1 means the first line on that page. And the last 1 means the first photo, in the first line, on the first page.

So, if you had a photo on the second page, third line, forth photo it would read 2-3-4

so you see, these three numbers will always varify from photo to photo. Right after this third number is now where you have to put your own .jpg
and of course delete all the rest. So if I wanted to post the photo from above it would read like this

and then of course add the tags like before at the begining, at the end

I know I went into alittle more detail then necessary but I wanted to make sure not only you got it but alot of others that have been asking the same questions. Good luck and if you have any other questions regarding Star don't hesitate to ask.

I tried doing what you said and all I get on my preview is a box with a red x. I posted the first pic from a cd with the attachment option.
With the way you described, do I still click on the image button and copy and paste the starphoto in there and then just add jpg.

So the new one should look like this

Something has changed with Star within the last day and I can't figure out how to post now using them. I'll keep trying, but does anyone has any suggestions?

I'm really bummed http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif I knew it was only a matter of time before they didn't allow hosting any longer. I sure hope this isn't the case

Ok, so it is starphoto.
I might have to look for another host site. I don't have many photo's on their site, that stinks for the other Hamber's who have alot.

is there anyway you can post your little photo straight from the computer,i post all my other ones from there...i just can't figure out how to make them 80x80 ...they always say they are more than 1000 bytes or they are so small you can't tell what it is

VERY simple guys, all you have to do is add a sqigglely in front of the albumn name, and drop everything after the number, and add the .jpg

Add the tags on each end like before and your good to go.

thats because your picture is 2.3k - it has to be 1k or less if your planning on posting it on Ryan's server.
If you want a pretty picture you need to host the picture on a website of your own. then the picture can be 80X80 and as large as you want. thats how you get guys with avatars that are movie clips, and animations. starphoto is a free personal website. check it out.

OK. I got this figured out now. In the previous pages of this topic, Hotrodaldycruiser found out that you need to add ~ (http://photo.starblvd.net/59ford/1-4-3) between /and your name and then add jpg to the end. It look liked this (http://photo.starblvd.net/~59ford/1-4-3.jpg).

Now you just drop the ~ and the jpg can not be in cap letters. So now it should be http://photo.starblvd.net/59ford/1-4-3.jpg

Looks better when it's bigger.

The pic size isn't the issue it's usually the PPI settings or the fact that digi cameras take REALLY big pics when set on high res.

Going to 70 ppi and sizing it to 5x7 - 6x8 is the best way to go.

Well looking forward to good pics (don't be affraid to post shots of kids tearing it up on a skate board now and again - we all like O/T stuff when it's not stupid).

Actually that's kind of a funny question CAB. T

he HAMB is like a huge Juggernaut walking around the web and when it's members all tag onto pics at Starphoto it's like punching their server square in the gut. They do pretty well when they have their "normal" traffic, but when the HAMB members are uploading/downloading and doing searches etc. it really fucks up the system. Last I heard the people from Star had contacted Ryan and tried to work something out. Fortunate for them the HAMB members caught wind of the problem and have tried to spread their photo hosting out to other hosts as well as being more consciencious when up/down-loading and stuff. In other words you might want to look for a back-up site too.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Star has a reputation for crashing around here, whether it's warranted or not.

It's not just that the HAMB has a ton of members (even though that is true) but we also have a lot of non-members and lurkers who read, and when something interesting happens involving pics (from any server) or any particular web-site, we can send a lot of traffic out to that site or server and it causes chaos......

Man I like that word...chaos....CHAOS!!!! (thunder booms - lightning crashes) MMUUHAAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!!! Ok, so maybe I've read one too many comic books.
