the board can't police this. if you still have your merchandise, then you didn't get ripped off. they just wasted your time is all.

I feel you. But I don't know if naming people wouldn't be good. I was warned here...somebody said, "You want to find out how many morons live within a 100 mile radius of you?...Put a car for sale on Gregzlizt". Man were they right!!! But...my feelings have gone from angry to just laughing at it. I just shake my head and laugh, and my wife knows what's up. I guess it's part of the "adventure". You would think that Hambers would be better, though. It is rediculous, but it makes it that much sweeter when someone actually does what they say they're gonna do. I think of a couple of old-timers that I know that have been doing this stuff forever, and I'm amazed they still do it. On second thought, maybe naming someone would be useful. I think I remember Ryan saying the most he could do is ban someone. Maybe PM him. Maybe three strikes and you're out. See what he says.

I put my 52 up for sale last year and some dude from alabama swore he was coming to buy it. I waited all weekend and he never showed. I didnt bother calling him because i didnt really care if i sold it. Just wasted the whole weekend for nothing.

i have a lot of cars for sale,if i believed every tire kicker that came by or called, i would be crazier than i am. if they show ,they show,if they don't,i consider it a part of the business and that's dealing with the general public.
most are impulsive buyers that have buyers remorse or wannabes that are flat broke and bored. i sold a car on ebay to a guy from texas, he called and wanted 5 more and was coming the next weekend to get them all. i'm still waiting and that was 4 months ago...people are funny.
can you embarrass them into changing? no ,you just move on and sell to the next or the next.

I happens to the best of us..Alliance and Oldschool members get first priority and have had absolutely no problems from them, it's mainly the noobs...but then again site is Free to post FS adds so how can you really complain? You could always deal with Ebay and the BS on that site and get jacked of half of your money...
oh and there is a list if someone rips you off....

Had the same issues. A guy says the money is in the mail, meanwhile the money never shows. I don't get some people's agendas. What is the purpose if you have no intention of following through on the deal? Or, you get the guy who lolly gags getting you the payment, then expects the part to immediatley show up on his door step after dropping the check in the mail. Some people's kids.

Can't really expect Ryan and crew to do too much, I'm sure it's tough to police. BUT...
Just happened to me for the third time here, and all on vehicles for sale. Not ripped off per se but deals agreed to verbally, then after a few days/weeks of excuses, they renig on the deal. Usually blamed on the wife/girlfriend. Most recently an 'alliance member' screwed me, so that's no guarantee.
"A man's word is his bond" means shit to some people.
On a positive note, I've had a LOT of good experiences buying/selling here too.

A lot of deals that go awry are due to communication errors and misunderstandings.
I've backed out of a few deals myself because I just didn't get a good vibe from the other end. It's my money and I don't care to lose it.
If someone backs out on you, they have probably decided the risk was greater than the reward and/or decided they should probably eat or pay rent, rather than buy car parts....
In the end, being a thief is a crime. Being a "flake" is not.
Not real interested in fielding complaints unless someone is out parts or money.
