If someone posts a part for sale with a price and someone posts "ill take it" is that considered a done deal or is it still up to the seller if another party offers more for the part? Need to find out.:D

No one should post "I'll take it".

They should PM the seller that they want it and get it worked out.

The reason I say this is, I see ads every day where someone says they will take it, then the ad is bumped again three days later.

Apparently they did not take it.

So you have to wonder how many people passed it up thinking it was already gone.

The rest is between the seller and buyer. The quicker you get the cash in their hands, the quicker it's yours.

If a party posts a part and price, then below the post another party says"ill take it" is that considered a done deal even if another post appears and ups the offer over asking price? Is it up to seller to make the decision or what?

umm this is not ebay so i dont think "bidding" up will do, this is almost like trying to buy a part out of someone elses hands at a swap meet.

It's not an auction. It should go to the first 'SOLD" poster, unless it was sold offline. Selling to someone because they offer more than the asking price is kind of like taking a deposit, then selling for more to someone else. IMHO

I'm gonna take a shot at this but since I'm still new here I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I'd say alot of guys who post stuff for sale may or may not have it listed in other places as well. Craigslist, local paper, bulletin board out in front of the liquor store, whatever, and until money changes hands it's not a done deal. Now if you post "I'll take it" and the seller tells you it's yours and then renegs he's a scumbag but I still think it's between you and him. Not the responsibility of this website to police marketplace deals. Just my 2 cents worth and worth what you paid for it.

I should reword the first part as the rules state you can feel free to post you want it...

Just because you are the first to POST you want it doesn't mean that someone else didn't beat you to it with a PM.

It's the first contact with the seller that the seller feels good about that matters....

Are you the buyer or seller in this scenario?

I hate when people post "I`ll take it"

I`ve had this exact problem once already.

Someone pm`d me like they are supposed to,and while I was working with tyhem on it they back off, saying that I already sold to someone else...I was like WTF do you mean??

Sure enough, some idiot posted to the thread "I`ll Take It" but never actually contacted me about it. This guy got mad when I refused to deal with him after almost ruining the deal for the first guy that was in line.
