I believe maybe your avatar you loaded is not a correct file type?

is it a jpeg or gif?

Caddyman65 - go to User CP and click on edit options. Go to Thread display options and make sure you have the Show Images box checked.

Did that, can only see them sometimes now...dont get it!

BTTT, I can still only see about one of about twenty pics that get posted, this sucks if I cant see what everyone is talking about!
