What are some good books for designing your own suspension? Ones with lots of information and lots of pictures. Books on race car suspension are good too.

Working on converting a '54 Buick to open drive, but I want to know more in general.

I like the knowledge in
"RACE CAR CHASSIS Design and Construction"
by Forbes Aird
MBI publishig

It goes into the whole package of what works and what doesn't and why.

(suspension is part of a "chassis" therefore it's covered here)

That book's a little expensive, but TOTALLY worth it. there is a ton of useful information, and it's presented in a pretty easy to follow format.

What do you want your car to do?
Handle in corners,1/4 Mile or mushy Limo ride?
I have a ton of books that are about suspension, but the ones that gave me the most information and were the most fun to read were:
TUNE TO WIN - CARROLL SMITH - ISBN.0-85045-808-0
RACE&RALLY CAR SOURCE BOOK - ALLAN STANIFORTH - ISBN 0 85429 317 5
Dont let the titles put you off, if I would ever lose my copy's I'd pay some serious money to get them back.
