Finally made it out to the garage this AM to remove the cab from the frame on my 46 gmc pickup.

Holy shit, those frigging nuts are on there. Took me 90 minutes just to remove the 5/8" nut from one mount. Then tried to remove the bolt....what the F!

Whacked on the bottom of the bolt to pop it up thru the frame rail and body but it wouldn't budge. The top of the bolt has a 5/8" SQUARE head, is the bolt threaded into the frame rail? Am I not applying enuff hammer? Is the bolt spot welded to the body, doesnt look like it.

Any suggestions??

That's why I left my '40 (same cab) on the frame. I think they are married forever.
drill a hole through the center of the head bigger than the shank and loft the body off maybe?

The wood bad underneath/in the cab floor section? I just built a clay dam around it and back filled it with some resin. Made the wood solid again! cab hasnt blown off the frame yet, did that in '88.

My 46 isnt a woodie like the 40 and older models.

Guess ill get the sledge hammer out, wierd thing was even using the 2' cheater to get the 5/8 nut off, the bolt never turned as if it was pinned, welded or threaded. No way its threded into the frame rail, right, right?

The bolt doesn't pass through a steel sleeve inside the body does it? I had one a long time ago that I beat on so hard that it punched the sleeve and bolt both through the floor.
