Here is a little history on the sedan. A man named Tiny Brown bought this sedan in 1953 he had it channeled and the firewall sectioned , firewall and frame painted red by Tudy Fortunes' body shop, where all the local hot rodders went. He then installed a a full race flathead built by a local MA. stock car driver then showed the car at the Quincy MA armory car show in 1956. The car was not running at the time nor did it have interior. Tiny Sold the sedan to his fellow Flywheels auto club member named John Otis in 1956 on his wedding day. John Otis is the guy that really finished the car, i.e. interior, paint , having a ton of stuff chromed and installed the 1955 Chevy engine - most likely one of the first installed into a 32 on the east coast. John let me make copies of the cool Flywheels auto club Christmas card it has names of some of the members from the time period and a drawing of the sedan on it. most cars in the club were coupes, roadsters and dragsters, John's was the only sedan. He built a sedan because it was different from a ton of roadsters and coupes. The older trophies are from various shows. one is from the Flywheels show that they put on in 1959,that show was featured in Rodding & restyling magazine in 1959 . as well as a couple of trophies from the Drag-Links car club shows , Drag -ons car club show, Hi - Winders, and not the biggest but very cool Los coches car club show in 1961 2nd place trophy for closed rod. The 2 oldest color pictures are the ones in the show in the NE horticultural Hall in 1959. The group picture is the Flywheels club out of Braintree MA , in 1959. 3 Car Craft 8 x 10 outtake photos that were never used. The nice photographer mailed them to John Otis after it was in Car Craft ! the B & W one with spun aluminum moon style discs and no fenders is from 1959. John said the pretty lady went to his high school. this is how I have the car now - no fenders and nos moon style discs on 16" wheels. I do run baby moons and beuty rings sometimes as well. The two color pictures I found on the HAMB. I freaked out when I saw one and then later the second one, Thanks to the HAMB. Back in the 50's and 60's the car won over 100 trophies and about 24 made it to me with the car. I have 12 from about 57-62 and another 12 from the east coast autorama circuit that hit several city's in 66-67 - I think it was called the governors cup.? John Otis currently lives near Austin and he let me take pictures of his membership cards and his original plaque, the trophies go with the car and a binder I have put together of pictures and copies of the magazines it has been in. I can go on and on . I still talk to Tiny in MA and John Otis, they are now in their early 70's.
