Looking good....the Klone needs a little altitude adjustment though. How was the original lowered? Spring on top of the front leaves? Had any luck on the intake yet?

You're talking a visit from kustom royalty there.

Like I said in the other post, that is an awesome amount of work you've got into that front end.

bftwcs,

Nice site!

So who's Ray Soff? Is that you Chopolds, or is there more than one of these things getting built?

Brian, not sure how they did it, but ours needs to be lowered like 9 inches! Probably start with the spring-on-top, and maybe dearch'em if that's not enough. Anyone ever hear of "C"ing a front frame?
Hey, that guy got it all wrong! I am friends with Ray, and can't figure out how that rumor got started. But Gary was one of the first people to know about the clone job, he's a great guy who runs a great magazine (Diehards). Even though he knew about it for over a year, he never pressured me to let him publish the pics I sent him!

This is another page on the same site. I wonder if Ford will actually make it?

Ray is the KKOA rep from NJ, and I also help out at KKOA functions, and am from NJ, maybe that's the confusion.
Intake....still looking! Saw a complete set-up out at Carlisle, including exhaust manifolds...but I don't need the exhaust for it, though! A bit more than I had to spend, $1500. I've got his number, but will keep looking!
Any leads? 53-4 Vette intake and carbs...3 x 1 side draft Carters?

I built a 37 chevy and put the axel on top of the springs in the front and c-notched the frame. It did need to be reinforced though. Although the truck frame is probably stronger and might work better.

I read in "Truckin", maany many years ago that an inspiring to me 62 Dodge had been C-d front and rear to get it's ground scraping attitude. Text said this was safe because of the strength of the round section. Used some kinda large, like 4" schd40 pipe and boxed the frame. Didn't wanna do my Dodge like that when I got one tho.

Lookin Better alla time MArk!

Far out, I got my Kustom fix today.
Yeah I've dabbled with Hot Rods but Kustom's are where my heart's at.

Chopolds.
Skratch z'ed his front frame on his 59 f-100
so i am sure you can C the frame.

Chopolds: secret source for those Carter sidedrafts.
Go find a Ford Y Block marine intake, they use a pair of them. They show on EPay regularly and one was spotted on HAMB last week.
The Vette intake is the easy part.

Nice too see a klone of Kopper Kart being built. Iīve read somewhere that the real was cut up and the rear of the frame and the bed was made into a trailer, last seen rusted away... Or is that just one more of the kustom car cock-and-bull stories? Maybe that one day it will be found together with Dean Jeffiers Merc, Golden Sahara and Moonglow in a hidden garage with no windows and the intrance being locked since 1962...

Wishful thinking and two beers too much Im afraid!

Though, Im still waiting for some kustom papparatzi to sneak into Jim Skonzakes garage to get some dizzy snap shots of Golden Saharaīs and Kookie Karīs current state!!!!
