I need to put discs on the front of my '52 stude;however $249 for caliper brackets SUCKS!What common american cars have steel, not cast caliper brackets? Don't '80's malibus, camaros, etc have the same wheelbearings as volares? I think some mustang 11 kits say this..I need to this on the cheep, the 9 inch drums are dangerous. The Stude sites say buy the kit...can anyone help me?

How hard would it be to swap in a later spindle assembly?

Avanti. It bolts in. Otherwise, get the caliper bracket from a Hornet or Gremlin, and go from there. Or use a full size blazer front caliper bracket, 4x4, and cut it down to fit your spindle.
