OK I arrived here out of frustration. THis old Ford panel has been in the family for years, now been sitting in my garage for some 22 years. Known for sure it is a 4cyl and has the X frame (not the ladder style) The title shows it as a 1932 Panel model B, the only # I could find was in front of the bell housing B5225265, my father in law who owned it before me listed the engine # as 46-6395 which I guess is correct but not sure where he found the number. Wheel base on both sides measures 111" which probably translates to 112". therefor a 1932,33 year model 46 which concides with the number above 46-6395. In the pile of parts there is a tube type steel rail that I assume goes across the rear frame. So I am thinking this could be a late model 1933 with one of the last 4cyl engines but can't seem to nail it all down. Anyone out there that can shed some light on this would finally put my question to rest. Thanks in advance

Post some pictures of the car/truck and we'll be able to nail it pretty quickly, otherwise it can get complicated chasing #s. Welcome to the islander.

The number with the B prefix is the serial number assuming it's the original trans (otherwise it's the serial number of the vehicel the trans came out of. The serial number is stamped on top of the driver's side frame rail anywhere between the radiator and the firewall, usually next to the steering box. The numbers on the frame were hand stamped, so the location varies. Ford had both 4 cylinder and V8 options through '34.

mvislander, I have 4 cyl bell housing # 46-6395 and it is for sale if you are still interested or know someone who is. If you send me a email I will send you some pics. It is in perfect condition and painted Ford motor green. As you may know the difference between the B and 46 bell housing is that the 46 does not have the mounts for the anti chatter rods that were on the 32B.
The 46 bell housing was favored by the folks that built T-Racers in the 30's and 40' using the modified B engines. FOROR32
