well i have been lookin for a place to work out of for a while now. had even decided i'd move if i found a house with a garage or shop. well i haven't been makin' progress on the plymouth or the buick for about a month now so i started spending that time looking at houses before work. well going thru the local classifieds last night i find a 24x32 shop for rent $135 month. needless to say i called the guy right then went this morning to look at it walk in there's already a 7hp 60 gal compressor sitting there. the guy says it belongs to the guy that rents the upstaiirs for furniture restoration, but he usually lets the down stairs folk use it to. well i rented the place go get my wife from work to show her the place and met the guy upstairs. i ask about the compressor. and he says yeah you can use it or if you want i'll sell it to ya for about 300. it's only 5 months old and he usually uses his portable so it's got hardly any time on it. anyway i'm rambling cause i'm excited , but anyone of you who doesn't have a workspace knows how i feel right now.yyeeeehhhhaaawww...ken....
oh yeah and it a coupla miles outside of town and the doors open to a 3 acre empty lot in the nc mountains.beautiful....

I can't even Fart around here for $135 a month. That much space would be close to $1000 CDN,about $700 US.

That's a score. In the city of brotherly love, I rent HALF of a garage for $50/mo and I feel damn lucky to be paying just that. One buddy rents a little closer to center city and pays $100/mo so he can barely park his motorcycle.
The compressor sounds like a steal too.

It would cost around a grand or more up here too. Then you have to heat it.

IF you ad the sunshine tax to your $135 a month, it would cost $300 down here. and everthing would have to be IN the garage at all times.
No wonder everyone from FL retires to NC.

the electric is nothing to worry about. when i talked to the guy upstairs he said the highest he could ever remember it being was $32 and that gets split between us so. man i'm pissin myself still. got more space than i could have by moving into a house with a garage and didn't have to pack up and move either.
fatass, you know i'm not that far away if things get to bad over your way. i'll plan on putting both cars there at least for now, but there may be a little room left if needed for a little while. don't know how the neighbors would like the open exhaust on the ford, but......
donnie, thanks and now maybe i can get back into the swing of sprayin' shit so we can organize the east/west flakeathon.hehe. i'm sure there's plenty of shit to make sparkly around you place...ken....

Luck bastard - I pay $200 for a 16 x 40 starage unit with not electrical outlets just bare bulbs. The owner doesn't know my buddy is a electrician and hooked up outlets on the owners circut. HEHE
