anyone know if the front and rear backing plates are interchangeble?

Aren't they the springy things used to hold decorative plates on the kitchen wall? Check HGTV for details.

I thought they were those wicker things you put under a paper plate to keep them from bending.

And speaking of plates...this guy was telling a story about how he had got in a car accident in Mexico, suffered head injuries and had a plate installed. Before the Mexican doctor put in the plate he said, "Now be careful, this plate is really hot..."

Traditional backing plates are made from real wicker, not plastic.
