LETs get this rolling...

I did this on WED/Thurs for a class called figure drawing, both boards are part of a series poking fun at how industrial designers sell there ideas--
I used my hand as the model.
I did them in graphite pencil and then scanned them in and finished them in photoshop.

heres the schematic:

Nice Tuck! I've always liked that kind of art work, it reminds me of the ads in old school comic books for woopy cushions and those things that give you a shock when you shake hands!

Well this is something I doodled while I was suppose to be working http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif......

LOVE your HAND gun Tuck!Don't let the Nazis from HCI see it though.Saw a thing on the news the other day where the school authorities made a kid take an NRA sticker off his car before they'd let him in the parking lot with it.Gangsta stickers are OK though.
Anyway enough of the rant. Here are a couple things:first is one of those PPG aluminum bodies used for Chameleon paint demos.Bagged and striped.Second is a mailbox I did the other day.Rattle can flames and gray striping.Damn thing weighs about 40 lbs.Made out of heavy gauge steel to discourage batting practice(a favorite Midwestern sport among the,"just got my license and I don't know what to do"crowd). It's going to be mounted on an old crankshaft.

bradberry~ those pencil sketchs while your at work/ in class etc... RULE. Thats usually the time your mind wanders and you get you best ideas. I try and keep a notepad with me when im working on ID projects so that when something dawns on me I quick write that idea down so I wont forget it!

FOILED was that for a paper? about how those guys oversea's kill eachother over some kick ball??? damn thats brilliant.

and Sailor damn dude... i love your art, you and foiled have your own look in concrete.

Safari NICE BOX. --on those mailboxes i used to do a ton of em... helped pay the rent in college b/c I would do them on a GRAND scale, an assembly line almost~ it was alot of fun... and work.

Here is a 47 Ford that is going together at a friend's shop, well not exactly. I didn't like the color so I changed it and added some flames.
I'm enjoying everybody's work so keep em coming.

4t64rd - Never seen that Blue Devil logo before....the similarities are pretty crazy...(guess that means I've got to come up with something different!)

Tuck - Thanks.....I find that when i'm not thinking about art I tend to do my more creative stuff as well.....when i actually sit down and try to do stuff I tend to get pissed easy and give up if it doesn't turn out how I want....

Nice work everyone!

Besides this, the only other extra work I've done this week is in the HAMB tshirt thread.

This was taken 1 block from my house. And I DON"t live in the country!

Glad you said that, Monkey, - soccer /football is almost the same over here. Only difference most have two teams to follow, one norwegian (usually local) and one british... It was even weirder when I grew up in the seventies. In my little hometown the kids in the various parts of town followed certain brit. teams. I grew up in a part of time where everyone was into Liverpool (but got a Chelsa-shirt from my dad who worked in London for a while, -so I was fucked..). The best players were almost like rockstars. I see it all in a haze; Kiss, Kevin Kegen, Slade, Ian Rush, Thin Lizzy... But luckily we have no real footballoriented violence in Norway. I never really understood that part of it. My guess is it goes together with poverty and desperation. It sure looks scary on the stadiums when the national team plays in Eastern Europe...

Back to art http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif . Lots of cool stuff. Foiles football-hell is on the money as allways. Also I dig that Meteor. That angry dude with the pink Comet should check it out. Also I dig the style on Tucks handgun-drawing. Allways great when something totally insane is described with excellent attention to detail. Thumbs up and thanks.

sailor i think the violence thing in football is totally sad...i know guys who go to games just to fight (sic) but when you`ve got the players acting like dickheads as well(did you see the guy spit in the chelsea players hair the over nite)theres no hope....anyway sorry for the off topic bit....i reckon someone should put together a book of the art published on here..a piece or two from every artist bound together in a hardback should whip up some serious funds for the hamb (i`m not offering by the way....too un-organised)

I hear ya, Monkey. I also saw the England-Turkey match a while a go... That turk player going for Beckham all the time.. Not very cool stuff.
Some day, Monkey, me and you are going to have a beer or two and talk about cars, art and maybe football too. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

A hardback like you mention would be killer btw. But I got to say that a hardback of Dans work alone deserves to be made first.

Since I can't post these in good faith on the regular topics, (non-trad!) I'll post'em here! Hope it qualifies as art.
Did this car last week. Kinda strange taste, this guy has, but I think the flames came out pretty cool looking. The guy was in love with the Kenwood Stereo Caddy.
The car also has molded in Trans Am scoops, and 58 Edsel bumpers, front and rear!
And I will DENY working on it, to anyone asking!

A racing pal of my B-in-L presented him with a birthday present "pit" helmet last weekend. Lots of symbolism incorporated, including the Union Jack showing under the "fractured" crown because ". . . in spite of 40 years living as an American, if you cracked his skull you'd find he's a Brit after all!" Anyway, for anyone interested in doing a plastic helmet for Bonneville or wherever, the painter said he prepped the shell with two very heavy coats of clear enamel, making it sort of soft and pebbly, giving the enamel a chance to soak into the plastic. After it was thoroughly dry, he did the graphics with One Shot.

hey buick 59, is the exposure time on that last shot like half an hour with a really small aperture? with the trees in focus, and the stars 'in motion', i'm thinking the earth turned while the shutter was open...

am i right?

good work everyone, as per usual.

I think i left the shutter open on bulb and the app was like 5.6 or something......but if I remember it was about an hour give or take 5 to 10 minutes. I have some color photos at night on a lake..........and its amazing you would think it was day time, except for the stars streaking across the sky. And the sky is blue. Very cool stuff.
