The Texas Timing Association is bringing a group of really cool vintage race cars to the Day of the Drags again this year, as we have for many years in the past. As usual, we will have some former world champions, make some smoky burnouts, and leave the pungent odor of nitromethane hanging in the cool fall air over Little River Dragway.
Confirmed so far are:
Scorpion 5 AA/Fuel Dragster ('64 World Champion)
The Cantankerous AA/Fuel Altered
Fuelish Habit AA/Fuel Altered
Black Magic A/Fuel Altered
Texas Bandit A/Fuel Altered
El Toro B/Roadster ('60 & '61 World Champion)
Ronny Muncey B/Fuel Altered
Tim Cruse A/Fuel Altered
Widdle White Wabbit B/Altered ('56, '57, '58, '59, '60, '61 World Champion)
and a four cylinder flathead front engined fuel dragster!
We're still waiting for confirmation on another fuel dragster and a fuel funny car to add to the mix, and maybe some other cars as well. We're gonna have a really good show for you that will fit right in with the coolest traditional hot rods anywhere that always make the trek to Temple to hang out with the Kontinentals and run their old iron.
You're gonna want to see them run, and smell the TTA's nitro cacklefest Saturday October 17th at Little River Dragway for the 2009 Day of the Drags.
