O/T computer help?

I have an hp media center pc 873n

I want to make a movie but, when I go to my

Windows Movie Maker

and try to

Capture from video device

it says

The video device is currently in use. close any other application that is using the device and try again.

then,

The video device cannot be used at this time because there has been an error when starting the device.

?????

anybody else out there with this same setup that has had this same problem?

I talked to the people I bought it from, they were helpful? but got me nowhere.

I haven't called hp yet, that is next.

USB or serial connection for your Video device? If USB, did you try unpluging and relugging it back in? If Serial, try rebooting with the device hooked up. What are you recording from? maybe it's not compatible with your PC/operating system.

ok after 45 minutes on the phone with hp I think we got it figured out..

when I get a video made who can host it?

I went for my typical drive today and got it all working, I think,

but it plays kinda like the more boring parts of Two Lane Blacktop.
