Here are a couple bikes I did the other day. Both are based on a '48 Harley FL, one is a kind of a sleek chopper, and the other one has ape hangers and a jockey shifter. The jockey shifted bike is in my store (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=31470652), the other one is this week's Year of the Chopper auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/Bike-89-Top-Chef-1948-Harley-sculpture-for-charity_W0QQitemZ180411486203QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH _DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2a015ccffb&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14).

You can find the high res version by clicking on the pictures and then hitting "original".

"Jungle Jockey"

(I like the exhaust on this one)

Those pics were taken by my buddy Matt, and he got some of the '33 I posted last week. Here are a couple:

This one taken to show scale:D

And I just got a new camera too....just a little point and shoot. But I'm pretty stoked with the clarity, here is one of the first pics I shot. The detail is cool if you go to the original size:

Sorry its not very Hamb friendly but its art. This is a "PENCIL DRAWING" of a 1970 Plymouth Fury. It is my friends car that he just got done with Drag Week last week. If you have never heard of it and are a fan of drag racing check it out! They have to drive their cars over 1000 miles and to different states and run them all out. If you check it out you will be amazed by the time of the winner! Thanks for checking it out.

Great Show everyone... what a great way to end a busy week.

Here's another old one. This design from September 1988, is one of a series I did for Hot Rod Magazine. It appeared in the January 1989 issue as part of their "Future Thought" feature article (written by Philippe Danh).

The NeoClassic Pro-Stock '49 Merc was illustrated (unplugged) on Cresent poster board with pencil, rapidograph, marker, chalk, colored pencil and gouache. I'll include a 2.5X detail.

Wow, I actually get to participate this week.
I guess you could call it an impressionist sculpture of a lead sled.http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=766474&d=1253842628
I'll apologize for the muddled finish right from the start.
I grabbed a can of tongue oil that had a little bit of dark stain in it.
It makes the Maple look Dirty.
Anyway, it's a trophy I did for the Run What Ya' Brung Drag Races tomorrow in Reynolds, GA.
The body is Maple and the roof and base are mahogany (I think...it's been a while).
I am contemplating making the body a much darker color. Almost black with stain
Input?

Tap, tap. Is this thing on? Friday, what a great day! Just looked around this morning and man, this place is on fire. I published a new drawing here last Friday and here it is again, only more finished. I really enjoy trying to name my drawings, but this one stumped me for a couple hours. I'd done another drawing titled 'Tsunami Wahine' earlier this year and decided to expand on the 'TS' sound. So, here is "T S U N A M I - T S U R F E R S" first album, "T S U R F A B I L L Y". They have a Psycho deVilles meets Dick Dale meets Marilyn Manson schtick. . .

Hey, I know that geezer!! And ditto on the compliments Terry listed above.

This is the Best Pinstriping award from Billetproof last weekend. First cutout I ever did (finally!)

Cutout & graphics by me, lettering by Diablo, pinstriping by Diablo, Mario, T-Bonez, Dane, Seann, Herb Martinez, Ron Miller, Eternal, Justin & me.
I thought the collaborative striping turned out really good. There's a couple stripers that were at the show I would have loved to have them add to it, but sadly didn't happen.

Last week the world lost a giant.......
Bernie Fuchs.

Bernie Fuchs came from another world and turned the illustration World on its ear.... better yet,.. clubbed its head with Thor's hammer.
Within a mear few years in the late 50's... he completely DOMINATED the (commercial) art world...a few years later he also set the world on fire with different styles.
He was the MOST copied illustrator to this day.
his style annihilated the likes of Elvgrin,Rockwell,Briggs and most of the old guard.
He could paint ANYTHING.
His automotive style and fashion started a trend that was carried on for years.....

Rest well Mr. Fuchs,
Your job is done.

My wife was involved in the Junior Achievement (http://www.ja.org/) Program's Silicon Valley Bowl-A-Thon today, as part of the fundraising, the teams were given a bowling pin to decorate..

I took 2 to Billetproof last weekend, and Steel Phoenyx on here stepped up to the plate when I dumped them in her lap at the show....

Keri came up with this KILLER pin....

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2544/3954915832_dbd9e3f6b9.jpg

(Which we won back in the raffle Keri)

And fellow striper at the Panel Jam Ron Miller striped another one, which, with some construction paper, glitter, glue, some small mirrors & a piece of plastic railway line & 2 pairs of R/C aircraft tires and an empty shoebox, I managed to turn into this....

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2457/3954201137_24df5a5326.jpg

Ginger (My wife) managed to raise $255 this week for the cause.

The total figure for the event was over $10,000 today...Thanks again to Keri & Ron for the awesome work.

I did this last weekend for my stepdaughter as a birthday present. Her name Victoria and she's just turned 14.
This is my 3rd attempt at hand-embossing. 32 ford Vicky . A4 in size.
Chassis swage, bottom body swage and up over wheel arch, belt-line swage and over cowl, swage over side windows are all embossed. As are the overall body, wheels and tires, grill , mirror and headlights. Its quite hard to get a decent pic that makes the embossing stand out.
Tire's got the rub with 120 emory cloth. The shadow and windows cot rubbed with scotchbrite cloth. the grill insert, wheels, mirror and headlight buckets got a quick polish. All outlined with a craft knife.
The personalised plate is not as clear as I'd like but Vic loves it with her name in it , spelt VIKKI .

Cory-
This piece really HOPS UP this week's show.
IMO the strongest piece of the week- pure hot- rod enthusiasm.
Jigger the Cad's ballsy & I'd love to have it as a summer scoot.
Oh yeah & hey man- that Vette is Grette !

ok so I am trying again redrew and attempted ink thought I was happy with it till I scanned it in and now it looks like it melted ? Man I need some Norwell lessons!

The '90s Buick Roadmaster wagon had a roof window
similar to the Olds' Vista Cruiser. Probably easier to find.

Great show everyone!
Tramp Warner and Donny Edwards broke protocol and went right to the triple-dog-dare. I haven't had a lot of time to post anything lately so I've gotten my chops busted. It's been hinted that I don't have a hair on my ass if I don't post something, and Tramp and Donny would post their stuff if I posted a piece this week.
This is a sketch for a painting called "Eugene's first joy ride". I'm leaning toward the xeno-octopoid.

DEL, That is a great work in progress. I think you should do a version of both.
The 'pus will look great but there is such a compelling dynamic going on with that
Norseman I can't help but like it.

Very nice Beach Hop.
I wonder if you don't want to tone down the yellow a bit in intensity.
The palette, as a whole is really nice but the colors are fighting for attention. The yellow,
as well as the blue in the WHANGAMATA oval might get that blue in the cars to
really POP! if it's dropped a few degrees like what you've done with the light violet
in the surfboard. Just one man's opinion. Great work tho!

Hi Chevy II . Cheers for that .
Material I used is 0.7mm (about .027") 5005 Aluminium. Small hammer, various form's of off-cut steel , punch's , drifts etc (I'm still trialing what ever I can get my hands on) over a piece of 3mm rubber on my steel welding table.
It's quite a buzz when its all done :D
