Yeah Curly!Maybe I should just fly into Buffulo and drive the thing back here.I could visit every HAMBer along the way.Call it "HAMBtrip 03"or "HAMBs across America".Shit we could do a documentry on how wacked it would be to just jump in the thing and go.No tools or FA,just a cell phone and a laptop to get hold of fellow HAMBers to help out when the ride fails.Yeah, now were talkin!'m gonna phone and find out how much a oneway ticket is to Buffalo.Whewhew!I'm going on a roadtrip.Anyone want to join in?
Actually, you know what would be totally bitchin. Is for us to organize a "HAMB relay delivery adventure visit other HAMBers and pass the baton kinda trip".Someone near the car,say Tokyo or LongisleVic could go and pick up the car. They could then drive it to another HAMBers place in the next state and pass it on.Now that would be kewl.I could send out my Chevron gas card and Digicam. It would make for an interesting time eh........Shiny

Buffalo is 3hrs away and I'm unemployed! If the thing is somewhat drivable and you could make it legal somehow I'd be game!I could take it from Buffalo to the West side of Cleveland! At the end you'd get a car a big gas card bill and a digi cam episode of probaby the weirdest car delivery in the world. I'm laughing but thinking this would be fun as hell!

God, that thing is wall to wall rot, are you sure you have to have that one?
Besides the exterior the thing probably has no floors and has an excellent chance of frame rot. Ive owned many early 60's Impalas and they go fast in the rot belt with the use of heavy amounts of salt on the roads.

I sure would have somone really check it out first.

Dontcha think you should have someone look it over after the guy cleans it out? 1961 to 1997.That's a lotta years of driving in the rust belt.

Shiny, I hope the price is right for it.. looks rough to me, the quarter panel, wheel wells and rear door look like they are going to need some luv... As Duece said, cant you find one closer to home or on the West Coast with no rust?

I really hate to burst your bubble.
NY is the worst state in the union for rust.
They dump millions of tons of salt on the roads here every year.
I'd make him drag it out and get detailed pics of everything before I commited to it.
It may not be worth the price of shipping it.
There is a lot better iron closer to you in the mid west states.
It's usally cheaper too. Most these fools in NY think just because somethings old it's worth a fortune.

Shiny- Since 97???..I don't know..Its none of my business but my opinion even if it was free,,,is it really worth shipping to where you are??..Even if its true and it has been there since 97,,,it should be a sign of some of the stuff from around here..I would be really concerned with the frame and floors...You can see the 1/4s http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif...Its going to hell quick..
Buffalo is about 45 mins to an hour away. If nobody else is closer I may be willing to 'really' check things out for you. Let me know when you plan on getting it and we'll see if we can work something out..Just trying to look out for ya..Dirty

Free isn't cheap enough!! If he pays you to take it, you'll have more in it than it's worth just rolling it into your driveway.

Be brave........hitch-hike to New Yawk and buy a roll of duct tape in Buffalo. Pick up the car and toss a new battery in the hole. Drive...............

Sure he could find something a little closer... But that leaves one more car that might sit there and rot away until the owner decides to crush it. I say go for it Shiny. Mine you, I'm really good at making jobs seem alot less tough than they are.
