I don't know a lot about the history of this old truck since I acquired it by way of an estate sale. I promised myself I'd get it running and either (1) fall in love, or (2) use it to help finance another project -- and I haven't fallen in love, so it's now up for sale ...

First of all, it is what it is. There's rust in the cab at the base of both A-pillars, bondo on the fenders, and both the running boards and the wiring are crap! There's also rust in the lower surfaces of the bed box and some on the tailgate hinge. The throw-out bearing is pretty noisy. If you're looking for an absolutely pristine truck -- this is not it!

But it does have some things which I think make it an attractive project nonetheless. It's got the original drive train -- 8RT engine, 3-speed trans on the column, and stock rear end and suspension. With the exception of holes in the running boards, it hasn't been cut on. Grille is intact (one parking lens missing) and all trim is on the hood. Both water pumps, upper hoses, radiator cap, plugs, plug wires, alternator, battery, and voltage regulator have been replaced. The replacement radiator is a reconditioned 8RT unit and it now starts easily, moves under it's own power, and stops. The really ugly buckets it came with have been replaced with an original bench seat that has been nicely upholstered in black and white rolls-n-pleats. I've left it idling for up to 20 minutes (checking out the radiator, hoses, water pumps, and pressure cap) and it never got over 160 degrees. I've replaced the exhaust manifolds/gaskets and put a cheapo dual exhaust system on it using some used bottle-neck glass packs. All the VIN plates match and it has a clear Texas title. It is not currently registered.

I'm not really interested in trades -- my daughter has announced her wedding plans and I need the cash right now more than I need another hot rod project. A link to pictures is attached. Please abide by the rules and contact me only by PM (3rd choice), mobile phone (2nd choice -- 210-884-7372) or home e-mail addy (1st choice garrycarter@satx.rr.com ).
I live just north of San Antonio and can deliver within about 50 miles. Otherwise, it's up to you to make transportation arrangements. It's currently stored inside and I can keep it in my shop for a week or two while you arrange for pickup. I don't take PayPal and cash talks. Thanks for looking.

Bump. OK, boys and girls, lemme explain a little something to you...

The OBO in the price stands for "Or Best Offer". That means the price I put on at the start is there for only two reasons: (1) this board requires a price tag on every entry, and (2) I'd like to start out from a position that's most advantageous to ME. Hence the inital asking price of $4,500.

But I know I'd be doin' good to get that, so OBO is a tacit way of sayin' I'm willing to negotiate. You're thinking, "I'd never pay $4,500 for his POS but I don't want to offend that goober with a low-ball offer. All I'll likely do is piss him off." Not to worry ... this ain't my first rodeo. If you have an interest, make me an offer. I definitely will NOT go below a certain point ... I'm not going to give it away ... but odds are good we could get to a point where we're both happy. Thanks for lookin'...

BTTT ... probably for the last time. If I need to peddle this sucker somewhere else -- so be it. But, before I go, think about buying it for $3,500. No OBO, this time; $3,500 is gonna be my bottom dollar.
