I showed up like at 9 pm on Friday in 2007 ,and they were having regular Friday night test and tune with the locals and it was packed.I just watched the locals race ,meet a few Hambers that were already there, and drank beer.Seems like i remember Kerry getting there around midnight that year ...

How late do they run on Friday nights? I think I would like to come out Friday evening & stay at the track. All depends on my wife right now. I am thinking about building a gasser for the Nostalgia type drags & need to learn as much as I can.

They run the friday night program till around 11 or so. The DOTD cars mainly show up on sat. We will be there fri to warm up and enjoy the weekend, come on out it's great fun and you can run your car alot.

Thanks Hot rod Bill, I am going to try to make it. If I can't do the Friday night thing, maybe I can at least run down on Saturday.
I will be in my Model A sedan, They probably won't let me run it down the strip because various track safety rules ie: no seat belts, roll bar ,etc.

Come on, bolt in some belts and put on that "brain bucket" and your good to go. They are real good about understanding these are old hotrods not racecars. The first time I went I didn't have belts and had to sit by the wall like the ugly girl at the dance.

Yeah that all cool. Just don't be cookin near the fuel shack or any other racer's setups where there is jugs of fuel sittin around. Just be smart about where you set up and make camp. We are going to try and keep the area from the concession stand down toward the staging lanes reserved for the racers. There is plenty of other room room to park your cars on the side before you get to the concession stand that will alleviate alot of problems down in the pits.

We'd like to put the fuel dragsters and altereds from the Texas Timing Association that will put on the nitro cacklefest and run exhibition match races right across from the tech shack and concession stand, up against the fence on the pavement. Makes it easier to get these hard-to-handle cars back to their trailers for servicing between rounds. We usually park these rigs from the Kontinentals trailer back down towards the finish line on the drag strip side of the return road. Won't be there yet Friday night, will be gone Saturday evening, and would sure appreciate it if we could have this space Saturday morning and afternoon.
