Cool Caddy pic A32~~
This is not quite done, but i thought i would show so far. It is a 1935 Columbia Superb Camel Back Single Bar Deluxe with aluminum pedals and duralium Torrington neck. Very early, possible first year 1/2" pitch chain. Original Troxel Deluxe leather saddlewith what originally was chrome under carriage. Cool 50's rear tire from Goodyear.

A bit off-topic....but at least the car started life on topic.:)
I finished up another 'toon tonight. This is wedding present for a cousin. Both the bride and groom are part-time ghost hunters. The building in the background is the Woodcarver's Building in Commerce, Indiana. It is their favorite haunted place.

Like most of the stuff I post it's variations under the influence of the craftsfolk of days gone by. Here it's the A brothers, Clay Jensen & Frank Kurtis. The latter here I see with deuce 3w body & hopped V16 Cadillac or Marmon.
C'mon eveybody- More Marmon action on the HAMB !

Diggin the Econoline too.
My addition, a couple of streched canvas photos I have made up 20x20 and a 16x24. These things look cool at that scale. They are both available... http://shop.ebay.com/waltkestudios/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=

- I just offered this Mopar up in Kirk's new thread . It cleans up the rear of what I think is a '63 New Yorker. Little bit involved but possible. Please bear with the rushed nature of this rendering- hope it conveys something of what I'm tryin to say. ( Which is that these styling mods would be worth the effort !)

Ah! Good to be back at Art! I'm glad I have something to post this week. The new baby in our lives is proving to be a lot of work! I'm pulling a Mr. Mom around the house.
I got the call and the esteemed honor of putting together the first Vintage Torque Fest poster and postcards taking place on May 1st 2010 at Farley Speedway in Farley IA. which sounds very promising for a great event on a dirt track!
Poster 11"x17":

man Britt - how long did that Dead Mans Curb take?
looks like weeks of work on that one!
and I gotta say that I am VERY happy with Keven Carter and his poster for the Torque Fest
hope ya'll will come on over to Iowa and check it out
it is only 30 miles from historic Galena IL (if you know where that is)
anyway - details are on the site
www.vintagetorquefest.com (http://www.vintagetorquefest.com)
and if anyone needs any work done - Keven is a great guy to work with - I would send him emails that made no sense -and he would somehow make sense outta my garbled 4 word jibberish
ha
and last minute changes did not seem to phase him.
Great working with you!

Hey Happy Friday all!
Great Show...really great so far.:)
Well, here's my Crap for the week...it's been channeled, and dropped.
I spent most of my lunch break tryin' to polish this "Deuce" yesterday...meh.
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/RonWeber/BIG_DEUCE-small.jpg
The most requested mod so far has been "corn", but I am more of a purist.
If anyone would like to make your own mods, I'd love to see 'em...PM me and I can send just the body if you would like...flames would be cool.
See Ya!

Another tiki.
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/pjc5150/P9061220.jpg
And a little before & after. A good friend of mine is an avid spear-fisherman, and I go inspired to do a spear-fisher tiki. So the before pic shows the beat-up piece of palm I found at the dump (next to my $30 craigslist score - the red & white late 50's rollfast cruiser), and after is the spearfished so far (haven't done the face yet, just prepped the head and rough cut the body with a chainsaw). Note the ULTRA REALISTIC cardboard fish on the spear.

Here are some designs I did for some guys in the 1/150th assault helicoptor battalion. They were fans of my work, and asked if I could help them out. This particular group fuels the birds, and they're known as the gassers, hence the '55, and the fuel truck. I am really stoked about it. It's kinda like when guys would write to Walt Disney during WWII and ask them to do insginias and nose art. I am so honored.

Back in the day the Board Boys didn't put that much effort into a vehicle. - Two requirements room for people and room for boards - get me there and as close to home as possible.
By 'effort' do you mean 'horsepower'? Is my Ford motor too big for the beach?

Hey HAMBers, it's getting late here'bouts. This: a sketch I drew with a BIC, scanned to P'shop, layered onto a stained background set to color burn. Got to wonderin what the rear-end looks like. Added its WIP...

By effort I mean work - they wanted driveable, room (2 or more buds+babes), boards, + room for whatever the babes needed.
Very little went into the engine, body, paint or chrome. - They didn't race or show - they hung at the beach or home.
The show cars of the era that depicted "Surfers" were built by the show car builders and toured the circuit.
"Surfers" and "Rodders/Customizers" did not get along.
Your art is steller - I am amazed at your and the other artists talents. I have no ability to transfer whats in my mind onto any medium without causing injury to myself or others.
I apologize if my remarks offended you - I have always been bugged by the
"Surfers" and "Rodders/Customizers" mix on here - Then I saw your perfect Hot Rod (with a Ford) that had a board hanging on it - and - well we are conversing about it.

Oh, hey, this is valuable insight! I've been land-locked my whole life. My only exposure to surfing? Beach Blanket Bingo and Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Ooohhh gnarly...
No offense a'tall my friend. Too bad surfers and rodders didn't get along, though. Both equal freedom and boards fit on rods.

If it is supposed to be a cartoon,
then it doesn't have to be practical,
or historically accurate. Right ?

We all have seen the 55 GMC L'UNIVERSELLE. My bro customcory draws stuff then throws it down on the floor like trash. I spotted this crumpled up nugget today as I swept up.
