I have a question about venting the valve covers on a 327 in a 66 vette. The engine came with a Barry Grant Six Shooter manifold. With this application the manifold has no oil filler as the original manifold. It was a recent overhaul...arent all cars that you purchase a thousand miles away... at least I am pretty sure that it was. The six shooter was added after the overhaul. My concern is that it will take a quart of oil in about 600 or 700 miles. There is only the pcv on the left valve cover. I am wondering if the problem may be that there is no vent on the other valve cover or any other place that I can see. Has anyone had this problem as well. Also could it be that the manifold when installed may not be sealed correctly ? Is there anyway to check this for a leak ? Also there is not an oil filler anywhere...have to remove the pcv plug to put oil in it. As you can easily tell the engine mechanics in not my strong suit.
Any help would really be appreciated.

If you are losing a quart every 600 miles then the car is either burning it or leaking it.
The best way to see if it is burning it is to look in the rearview mirror when you drive it.
The best way best way to determine if it is leaking is to look for the puddle under it when it is parked.
Either way, I personally would try to trade it for a 32 or 34 five window with an early Hemi or possibly a 324 Olds Rocket. But then that's just me.

A friendly reminder. You will get a better response if you introduce yourself first then post tech questions on the main board.
