The good hotel and the "parking lot party" !

this was a good cheap hotel last year. close to the track
and we had a blast at the parking lot party, and theres a bar next door !
they are giving a speical rate to the racers of $45.00 a night
$50.85 with tax :cool: ya can`t beat that, see y`all there

Now thats funny ! Troy set up that army tent in the motel parking lot and if the rooms suck we can sleep there. That way we won't miss Casey doing hot laps around the building,,,! I'm bringing my stop watch this time .

You know im just messing with you about stinking Troy.I like the smell of 90 weight mixed with rotten eggs,and toe jam .I couldnt resist sorry ,i am seeking professional help for my teasing people problem .Its really getting me in trouble lately .For the record Troy doesnt stink as far as i know.I wont get close enough to him in a closed space to find out ,atleast not until he gets his lice infestation under control,ha ,ha ,lol...

Hey Denise, It appears that way Friday, not sure about Saturday night. There are a lot of motels scattered around, I believe this one is the closest to the track. The price of the Great Western sorta gives you an idea of the condition...

There was a pretty good group of folks on Friday last year,and more on Saturday.

Take a right out of the race track and drive abou 30-45 min to Taylor Texas. LouieMueller's is the best around there. Don't eat at the joint next door, it sucks. LM sells out early, so don't plan a late lunch or dinner. Go early on Saturday and enjoy.

The Great Western Inn in Temple on the Loop is a nasty place. I am surprised there were no drug bust or prostitution bust while ya'll were there. The apartments directly beside it are crack head central.... I'd be afraid to leave my car in the parking lot.

If you go up the loop about 1 mile further just past 31st there are 3 better hotels that have some good food places within walking distance.

If you are wanting some good BBQ go to Clem Mikeska's on the corner of I-35 & 57thst & Ave M in Temple.... they have been in business over 50 years and just built a really nice new restaurant with plenty of parking. In Belton on Central Ave. just off I-35 there is Schoephs (sp?) BBQ it has a different (sweet) taste but is liked by many in this area and is always packed.
