I'm going to look at a 37' Ford tomorrow with a McCulloch supercharger. I've never even seen one in the flesh. Can somebody give me a clue as to how they work and any possible flaws?

I've been running one for about 7 years with no problem. If you can, check the gears by turning the drive pulley and feeling how much play there is in them. Is this a running driving car? There isnt really much you can check with out taking it apart. But if it turns Id say you have a keeper.

Here is mine...

The McCulloch superchargers of the 30's from what I've heard provided moderate boost and performed fairly well., but where nothing fancy. It prolly' will look somthing like this.

If by any chance it turns out to be the belt driven type with the variable ratio pulley I have a service manual I could copy for you, but I don't know anything about how the pancake ones work. I doubt they're even similar.

Wow, someone on here actually running one of those. I always thought that kind was super rare?

I think there were about 4 of them at the Road Agents show back in 2002.

I got a pair of Graham superchargers that I have earmarked for a plymouth six or pontiac straight eight that run off the back of a generartor http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

All I know about these is posted on the site. One thing that might interest directly is a 37F installation article I uploaded about a month ago.
