Any idea as to what year this is from? The angle iron was on it when I got it I assume it was a trailer axle for awhile the gears inside are nice go figure!

Looks like a model A to me. I went ouside and compared the ends to the one I have in my garage.
The iron welded on make it look like they were using it for a horse walker. Here in Texas you see that a lot on some of the horse ranches. They turn the diff upside down, have bows in place of the spring mounts on the ends, and have horses walking in circles with these things. No lie. They look exactly like what you have got there. Would also explain the un damaged gears.

Model A axles had the spring hangars on top like yours. Sadly, that's a pretty useless rear for a hot rod. Even the stocker guys frequently switch them out for a '33 or later unit.

the center housing makes a really cool display case, too. i think it was bob k that posted one recently; probably in the garage art thread.
