I`m trying to get the top hinge off of my coupe body, not the door itself. The top hinge has 2 flat tip screws, I finally got both out after lots of heat and persuasion. Now why wont the damn hinge come out, is there something else holding it that I`m missing? The hinge is loose it just wont pull out of the body slot!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Somebody tell me whats holding it, Am I just an idiot?

The sheetmetal of the body has two pieces of metal with the hinge between. When you drill out the head of the hinge bolts, you leave the length of the bolt sticking past the second thickness of the body. Insert a hacksaw blade--tedious or cold chisel or force the hinge out and reshape the metal you deform doing it that way.

My bad...I thought that they were all the way out. If not MOCars is correct. I got Lucky and had to drill one out Sunday. Centerpunched it and drill right down the center of the bolt after the head popped off. Worked my way up through the drills until I could se the threads were the only thing left and went in with a dental pick and carefully pulled them out. New screw threaded into it like it was never touched....like I said, LUCKY!

Two in line near the outside of the body and the third one is 1/2 way between these two and closer to the interior to make three points of a triangle. Hard to explain...I hope this helps. PS look at the opposite side of the hinge and you should see the same layout.
