Hi from New Zealand. apologies to other New Zealand members re my login name but I panicked when joining and NZ was the first thing that came into my head. You chaps have really got something going here. I have been a restorer for 30 years and hit the midlife 'need to go faster' crisis and have invested in a cutting disc for my angle grinder, shelved my mud guard (fender) collection and have started looking accusingly at my 4 cylinder chev motor and started asking some serious questions as to why you cant make more of an effort in getting me from A to B without so much whining!! . Critical influences in questioning the performance and street cred of my current steed has been the artistic merit of MrmodelT's creation and JimmyB's wonderful 1925 chev roadster. If you havnt guessed my bent is chev 4 (1925-28) Gow job (a term I like but dont fully understand). My chev allegiance is based purely on the fact that this is what I first found under a hedge with my father when I was 15 . My current build is a 1925 chev roadster that was initially going to be a period correct sunday jalopy but thanks to you lot it will be a traditional rod.

cheers

Are you sure you're not English?

As you've probably worked out, there are years worth of threads on this site and an excellent search function. Go through everything to do with 'history,' 'lakes era,' 'roadsters,' 'modifieds' and you'll find plenty to study.

Then you might start talking properly!

Welcome.

p.s. you won't find much about Alvis but there is plenty about Miller.

Welcome and watch what you say. Even I was offended by some of that stuff.

I have a good friend named Alvis Miller. Owns a local funeral home. He's not a car guy, but his brother Vern is.

Truth is stranger than fiction!

NZ, you crack me up. You've cut the intro in half and it's still the longest one I've ever seen!

On the other hand, at least you took the trouble to do a decent one.
