I got my SUPER-CHEAP (saved about $200+) Powerflite rebuild kit a few days ago. I was going to rebuild it myself, but today I broke my collarbone. I won't be driving for a couple months, so now is the time to do it.

Are there any shops ideally in central MN that are knowledgable with ancient 2-speed autos? And what kind of price am I looking at for labor?

Oddly enough once the weather cooled down the trans almost completely stopped leaking, and it shifts real hard now when at a stop (torque practically flips the car over). Still needs to be done though, I'm sure.

"shifts" in eau claire has a tranny shop and seems to work on the old junk. Or you could just fill it full of sawdust and sand. bet that would fix it.... Dave

Machinos, I'm not in the "Peoples Republic of Minnesota", but we can do your powerflite. Still have a lot of parts for them too. Labor for a HAMBer wouldnt be too bad either. I have a buddy that delivers mopar parts to your area, so maybe we could even arrange for pickup & delivery. Dave (GO PACKERS)

Hmm... Ham Lake is closer, but a HAMB deal sounds even better. shifts, would it be cheaper or easier if the trans were out of the car? I know kickdown adjustment is really important too, but I know nothing about it. The shop manual for the car goes into insane detail with the PF too.

I think I'll give Bendtsen's a call inquiring about swapping in a cast-iron TF and myabe an OD unit... still wanna get the PF rebuilt, though http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
