at the last minute I can make it to the HAMB Drags!

I thought I was going to have to move my daughter into her dorm the weekend of the drags and was not going to make it this year. However, my daughter opted for an apartment instead which I helped her move into Tuesday. Today I was able to get a days vacation, and the blessing of my bride so I will be Joplin bound.
Of course at this late of date all of the rooms are taken, hopefully SUIT will be able to help out. Whether SUIT can help or not I am going to be there. My plan is to head out of Austin Friday morning around 6 and drive straight through to Joplin. I plan to leave Joplin Sunday morning and be back in Austin before dark Sunday.
Because of the last minute nature of this trip, I will not be bringing the race car, instead I will be driving my wife's daily driver. I am open to picking hoodlum hitchikers as long as I dont have to go too far off the beaten path and they are not going to bitch about my cigarette smoke or the volume of the radio set louder than a Saturn V rocket.
If I cant find a room, is there anyone that has floor space for a derilict Texan?

If you can't come up with a room or other accomodations, let me know. I am staying with my cousin in far NW Arkansas on Friday night. Buddy Anderson is bringing his Widdle White Wabbit and staying there also. Probably can line up a couch or floor pallet for you if nothing else.

Dianne and I will have the TTA tent, tables, and photo boards at the race, but are also not bringing our roadster. We will be pitting with the Wabbit and Gizzlehopper.

Let me know if you don't score a more socially acceptable place in Joplin to crash and get you set up with us other Texans.

I got a room for my dad and I at the Days inn. Looking at the web site they say they have rooms available, the number is 417-623-0100. I believe this hotel is right next door to the Holiday Inn. Hope this helps you out.
