that the image im trying to post, but it says,
"The files you may upload must have the following extension: .gif,.jpg,.txt,.zip,.png". any idea why?

That means it must be a file of that kind...usually most are either .jpgs or gifs...however in order to upload a file to the HAMB...you must have: [IMG} in front of the file name and : [/IMG] at the end of it...and remove anything like ?, /, after the file name. And you must use the file name that is atached to your picture.

To wit:[IMG]pictures.sprintpcs.com/shareImage/4556395394_235.jpg]...understand?

Where is your pic stored/filed? Is it on your computer or on another site like starblvd? That may be the problem.

its actually stored in my email, and on my desk top.

40StudeDude
11-03-2003, 05:59 PM
Then you cannot post it on the HAMB...the HAMB is set up so that you must use another site to store your pix on...like Starblvd...you cannot download pix from your computer ot the HAMB...

Briggs,

You can attach a file (photo or otherwise) using the "post" button. Just after the text box, instant gremlins box etc. is a check box and "I want to preview my post and/or attach a file" Just check the box, hit continue and go for it. The browse button lets you go to the photo and then open it. Its magic.

Regards,

Jim

Donzie

This may help.
After you put in your text (and you must put in some text), click the "continue" button (make sure the "I want to preview..." is checked).....

Donzie

Now, click the browse button, attach the image from your hard drive (from a folder or on your desktop, wherever you have the imaged saved) and click "continue".
Tada, there it is.

Yep, and the car STILL IS! Believe that's the Aztec...built by Jim DeCarr in the Barris shop...it's a Chevy...'56 I believe...but it could be a '55 Chevy...can't remember. Now, I cannot tell you if it's a jpeg or a gif...

Was this a test...did I pass?

Still wondering how to make the image quality better. 3bytheknee's boyd truck photo is smaller than my project towing photo in bytes but his is larger and sharper looking on the screen. Is the difference in the image quality setting when you save down to jpg.?

I believe that is the case. It also depends on how high the resolution was when the photo was taken. A high res photo can be cut down or blown up a lot and still be clear. I copied that pop-top truck off the Net.

bigger image size / lower image quality = smaller file size and better screen appearance. . .maybe?
