WAY DROPPED PRICE!!! $6200!! I have to sell this quickly!!
This is not a "rat rod" but I know its looked at that way...so call it anything you'd like!
I've driven this on the highway several times, and it rides great. I have no speedo, but in CA everyones going 70+ and Ive blown by them with no problems. Keep in mind the gears are either 3:55 or 4:10, never checked, but its NOT doing 1800RPM at 70!!!
Titled and registered in CA as a 42 Ford, this body is a 47 ford panel truck cowl narrowed 4" and shortened 6". The tub part is the roof of the panel truck flipped around.
Custom built 2X3 rect. tube frame. Rear is Z'd, front is sliced and pushed up. All cuts are welded and plated and welded over. Has an X member in the frame too.
The rear is a 3/4 ton dana 60 out of a dodge van, with a custom 4 bar suspension and friction shocks. Has a transverse leaf spring and you can raise and lower the height on it. 8 lug 16" wheels truck bias plys in the rear...look like cheater slicks. (but they are just old bald tires)
The front end is an international axle with quarter eliptical leaf springs that are height adjustable, and radius rods with a vega box, and friction shocks.
Front wheels are 14" steelies with trailer bias plys on. Great tread on them.
The motor is a 72 Dodge 360 and a 727 Automatic. Runs strong. Has open pipes on it. Its pretty quiet at idle, but roars to life off idle under throttle. Its a stock motor with a 2bbl Rochester. Has all new points, plugs, and all the tune up stuff.
This is WAY FUN to drive, and obviously with the army stuff it gets lots of questions.
It has aluminum floors and a steel trans tunnel. Dash panels are riveted aluminum as is the cowl vent. Looks pretty cool. Front headlights are new speedway motors and the single rear is a model A and says STOP.
The radiator is a V-8 falcon/nustang and has an electric fan that kicks on at 190.
The shifter is an ebrake handle, and park is all the way back, and it shifts forward...cool cause no one thinks its a shifter.
The gas tank is an old propane tank, and holds around 7-ish gallons. The ammo boxes are for ice and beer... the battery is mounted up under the dash. The wiring is all from scratch, I build all of my own harnesses here. Has a key on and a starter button under the dash. Fan has a relay as it should, and fuse panel has Battery hot and keyed hot, the way it should. All exterior wiring is covered in heatshrink also. Has gray leather seat cushions on the floor, and I have the backs I can include, but I dont personally like them when I drive it.
This has rear brakes only hooked up right now. Its completely plumbed for fronts also, but with these wheels, the drums will not fit under them on the front. I have the drums, one brand new, that go with the car, but this stops better than some other cars Ive built with 4- wheel juice brakes. The rear is from a 6500+ lb vehicle so the brakes do great for this little tub. So I have never changed wheels because I like the look of these and it stops fine.
If you want to know more, you can call, or you can just go and see it.

Im a mechanic for a living and have been for quite a while. I dont just throw things together, and in this case as with the other cars and bikes built in my shop, safety and road worthiness is the MAIN concern. The car is built, disassembled, cleaned up, and everything painted, and reassembled with locking mechanisms (washers, locknuts, locktite, etc) on everything! This is not a typical shade tree throw it together car like some others out there.
