 i have a real problem.
1986 cutlass with a 350 olds engine.
engine was built in machine shop that has since went out of business.
installed in car. i cannot get it to fire.
have spark, brand new carb, fuel to intake.
i noticed fuel sitting in intake, not flowing to cylinders.
not getting any paperwork from machine shop, i don't know how far to adjust the valves.
i tried going 0 lash plus 3 fourths turn.
are my valves not opening enough?
tried spraying fuel directly into cylinders and only got one backfire.
do some olds 350 motors have a different fireing order.
my buddy is a mechanic, took to his shop and he is stumped also.
someone PLEASE HELP ME.
i will try any suggestions. and they would be greatly appreciated.i am almost to the point of throwing $4000 engine in the back yard and going chevy.

Interesting intro. Your 350 Olds firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.

the rotation of the distributor on an olds is counter clockwise so you set your wires go in firing order counter clockwise on the distributor

unlike a chevy which is clockwise try this and it should fire right up

had this problem on my old 83 hurst olds had me pulling my hair out for two days
