My two year T-Bucket project actually moved under it's own power today for the 1st time. Flattie ran great, troublsome clutch worked flawlessly, 5 speed seems to get the job done. Wet pavement burnout broke in the 30 in. tall bias plies. But...no brakes! Just up and down the driveway a few times. It was raining and cold so I didn't dink with it much plus the open carbs don't like the rain. I have been impatiently waiting for this day and it still needs minor work. I will re-bleed the brakes Wed. and try my hand at some real flathead burnouts in the street.

Where did you get those tall skinny wheels???? (Seen in your ohter post)
Late model spares....?
Nothing like that first drive is it? Even if only a few feet...it's enough inspiration to keep you going to the end!

If we can't get the brakes workin, I think we should install a scrub brake, or you could just throw out an anchor...lol http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

A 2x4 with a nice billet handle should do the trick!

It went down the road and stopped, bleed the brakes a bunch of times and its a go. He still has some tuning to do, but talk about someone with a raging hard-on, Pete won't be able to stand up in public for awhile.. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Pete is in hot rod heaven after his first ride, and I cant blame him, its been a long time coming. Now he can take his rod out and play with it! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thought I was toast at my 1st stop sign. A cop right across the intersection!! No tags, insurance, windshield, mufflers, the list goes on and on. It felt great to have that smokin', loud ass, rough-riding sumbitch out on the street. Thanks Joe!!
What five-speed are you running, Pete?
That must be a great feeling. First ride. Good for you. Nice solution on the wheels, we would not expect less from a tire guy, eh? What bolt patterns do they have?
Welcome to the board, by the way.
I better get back in the shop now!
