Alright, here is my first contribution to the Friday Art Show. Be gentle, I haven't drawn much in years. I used a print I just bought for most of the inspiration.

Showed this last week as an in progress pic. Well, road apple "forced " http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif me to sell it to him even before it was done. But he let me finish it and I didn't even have to run the paint 'cause he wanted it bare metal and I even got to put the wing on. Thanks Coby.

I finally got around to working that belly tank lakes car art work I've been wanting to do. I'll try to get a pic put up tomorrow. Gene

Really nice work guys!
I haven't done anything either striping or drawing wise in a long time, this gives me motivation to get back into it.

The closest thing is I am playing around with water bourne paints instead of solvent bourne for smaller items like tanks and fenders and things of that nature. As such I've been cranking out a few quick mailboxes here and there.
This latest is one I did with some yellow with a bit of a pearl mixed in on a forest green base then cleared with HOK UC35 clear.
http://images8.fotki.com/v138/photos/3/316525/1572174/DSCN0082copy-vi.jpg
The depth and even the pearl is hard to grab a picture of with the lighting I had. In daylight it looks pretty slick for being a water bourne paint (save for the clear. I just won't give up on HOK clear. It works almost TOO well ) It made my day how well it turned out, as I've never been a fan of water bourne paints.

Great work, everyone. Here's two pieces from this week. The Ed Roth design was originally done electronically, I think. It's in a Roth book I have and I decided to attempt it with some 1-shot.

Awesome stuff this week!

Joe contacted me and wanted to see what his 54 ford would look like chopped, lowered, and with fender skirts. I dicided i wanted it to look like the 50's designer guy's drawing, so I did a brown pencil line drawing with a little cross hatching for shade. It came out pretty good I think.

Been doing a lot of "road work" this week so I haven't had too much time to fool around. This tire cover was one I did in-house and it was a pain to letter on as it wouldn't smooth out.The mirrors are for a beauty shop owned by a friend of my son.I did do a couple more "Ladies" but am reluctant to post them as the customer wanted them as,"anatomically correct"as possible.

N8inks,
it is all ink....the midtones were thrown in with Chartpak marker (cool grey #1).I usually hate using marker, but those work very well, with minimal streaking when used on the right paper.

I may do a "finished" one now if i get off my ass....all i did for 4 months was draw and paint at school, finally get a month off and feel like sitting on my ass....

I promised pic of the belly tank little car. Hotrodladycruiser has spoken for it (at least until she sees it http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif ) This one was a real PITA. I made a wood buck (I don't work well with wood) from a 2x4 and beat the 20 G sheet metal into 2 haves of the car in rough form (rough being the key word here) with a ball pean hammer. After lost of adjusting, welding, building up and grinding off, this is what I ended up with. Gene
