What I have for sale here is my 1935 Ford pickup. built over the course of the last 2 1/2 year's (and still not 100% complete) of my life. Its a great hot rod, not traditional but not what I would consider a rat rod either, just my own ability to own, love and drive something with personality. I'm not a photographer but I think the photo's will speak for themselves. The car is by no stretch of the imagination perfect. But I have done what I felt is a nice job and not just a bunch of cobbled together rusty junk.
35 Ford pickup Chopped 7 inches
Hand build Frame from 2x4" .125 wall tubing, all joints were sleeved inside with .125 plate and roset welded. Z'd front and rear body isn't channeld for head room. I'm 6 foot even and fit in just fine. but I like a close shifter.
Handmade windshield frame with real glass, no plastic bullshit
Most of the sheet metal has been replaced with hand fabricated sections because the body was so rusty when I got it, no rust any more.
Custom made wood floor and aluminium trans tunnel with solid brass screws throughout. And twisted shifters.
Two handmade semi-bomber seats
The engine is a 1955 Chrysler industrial 331 rebuilt by myself not just rehabbed. It lived in garden city kansas its whole life before i got it and it ended up here. it was bump honed with new rings and went back together with a .018 ring gap at the standard 331 cubic inches crank was polished and a .0015 gap was achieved on the mains and rods. standard main bolts hold it togeher. oil pump relieved a high pressure spring and gives me 75 lbs. oil pressure cold at idle and 35-45 lbs. hot. rocker were rebuilt and resurfaced and check for pushrod cup wear and replaced where nessasary, rocker shafts were also polished and cleaned throughout. oil pan is original to the motor and has a glass and brass oil level gauge mounted to the side, and it work's great. the heads received normal cleaning and crack checking as did all the other components and went back together with stock valves less a recut and lapping and new 56 chrysler springs. .030 was decked to raise the compression close to 8.75ish. The motor also retained it original industrial script valve covers and older style front water pump that ive also put a new seal in and dosent leak a drop. really. The ignition system has a stock single point distributer from a dodge truck with a mechanical tach drive that drives an international tach. The intake is a weiand "short" style 6x2 log intake that had come from an old 40 ford from california in the 50's. On top are six fully functional holly 94 carbs jetted 54's outboards with power valve plugs and 51 on the inboards with correct powervalves. eelco progressive linkage runs them all very well. proper brass flare fittings and 5/16 copper line keep them all fed with fuel.
All that is backed by an odd 53 chrysler M6 semi-automatic transmission rebuilt and modified by myself.
Outback is a 53 dodge rear end with a 3.90 gear ratio and taperd axles.
The front end consists of a 30's MAC truck grill modified to fit around a radiator that i think came from an industrial lincoln welder. (i picked it up in new england) Simple speedway headlights let me see at night.
The front axle is an old mor-drop that ive drilled 1" and 1/2" holes in. Its held in place by old chromed model A bones i painted black. Early ford juice brakes and 17" 34 ford wheels combined with the dodge brakes out back and dodge master cylinder surprisingly stop this vehicle very quickly.
Bed was made by hand (and not 100% finished) and contains the rear suspension with is a simple transverse leaf model a spring and ladderbars. The white trim is actual strips of metal i bent and fit, painted gloss white and bolted with machine screws to the bed. the top is a piece of berch plywood with no knots. i have the hatches cut out that i had planned with put on but i havent found any hinges or latches i like yet. The back has an old solid brass boat light for a license plate light. The original blue dot 40 chevy tail lights are very bright and visable to anyone following behind.
And i think that should cover what the photos dont.
I drive this car. and i beat on it, its a hot rod its fun, and its proven safe. i drive it up and down a washboard pothole filled road on a almost daily basis and after 947 miles ive not had one single problem with this vehicle its a reliable tough hard driving car.
No trades. Pm if you want to talk to me on the phone or visit in person, I also have more photos if you need to see them.
Edit:
I've forgotten a few things.
Clear florida title. its tagged and insured, i drive it legally.
All of the dashboard Gauges work minus fuel gauge. speedo, odometer, mechanical tach, amp meter, oil pressure and temp unit all work.
