Ok time for you A owners again. What kinda steering boxes are you using? Im wanting to keep the steering on the frame rail. I have an early chevy truck box that might work but it is wore out, the sector teeth are almost nubs. Ok lets see them.

Just noticed you are from Ashland. Are you the one that was parked next to TrailerEd at the Ashland show a few weeks ago?

I found a kick ass Volvo steering box at a swap meet.Nice Aluminum housing, compact design,no idea what model or year.Would have been great, but it was with a complete tube axle and spring and the guy wouldn't seperate it.If I remember correctly,it would mount with the pitman arm facing up for a side steer.

Not me. Last show I went to at the Lake was probably 15 yrs ago. I don't remember who that guy was at Ashland. Rusty said he was a HAMBer.

What you home?
Did ya pick up the shaft?
Try to find a VW Micro Bus> The box works great for
mounting on the top of the rail.
I think there are a couple of buses down the road from
me.

Looks good from here.
How early chev is it.
I'll see if I can find it in my books.
It looks alot like the one in the 55 gasser, and
the one in the old Gimmy truck back by the shed.
See if there are numbers and a name, logo.
Sag? Gimmer? what?
Anybody else id this box?

Looks similar but different to my 30s GM box. They steer well when in good shape. Some even say they are better than Fords version.

I like the simplicity of it. No cutting the snout off this box welding it on this box and change the guts.
