Has any reader bought a roadster (or other) metal body from supplier/builder Don Babb of Palmdale, CA? Good, bad, or otherwise? Delivery time?

One of my customers brought one to me to have it put in etch primer. Very nice body (34 roadster) and I understand the deal was done as promised.

JR:

Please tell us what this is based on JR. Did you or someone you know have bad dealings with this supplier?

I have a roadster pickup body on order with Babb. I had two good recommendations prior to ordering. Mr. Babb seems straight up from our phone conversations. My only problem is two delays in delivery so far. I ordered it with the doors and cab extended 4" and this seems to be the major holdup. It is to be done by November 21. We will see, not holding my breath. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

It's been a long time since I bought anything from him. I ordered a new dash rail for my A and he sent me a used part.
Said he didn't have any made up. The part worked out but I wished he'd have given me the option first. Not a big deal.
I have heard from friends that he will take several orders and then make up for the parts which can sometimes take 6 months! Stay in touch with him and document every call.

Thanks for the heads-up. Curiously, I have heard that Brookville is usually late on deliveries too. Must be a trait of the trade. I went with the left coast supplier just to save shipping. Also, Brookville does not advertize an extended cab 28/29 roadster pickup, just the 30/31.
