A couple questions...

Question #1...(and I know it sounds basic until YOU try to do it),
but how in the HELL do you swap the top headlight lamp out..??
For the life of me, I cannot get to the top retaining ring screw..!!!
(is it just the two screws that hold it in..?? seems like it to me...)
I even got a flex-shaft screwdriver, but it won't let me near it..!!
I'm thinking I'm gonna have to fab my own tool...
weld a FLAT BLADE tip to the end of the flex part
of the new tool I bought today...
to make it thinner, and more likely to work...
Any suggestions..?? Advice..?? Directions..??

Question #2... My headlight clamshells open fine when I turn
my lights on... BUT, when I go to turn them off, they don't close...
then the fuse blows and my wipers don't work...
Obviously they are on the same circuit,
and I've been told it means my relay is bad...
Where is that relay located..??
Is it the one kind of next to the battery..??
On the inner fender well..??
I think I have the right relay,
but want to make sure I'm switching the correct one...
so I don't blow up anything else besides fuses...

Electrical stuff confuses and frustrates me...
that's why I became a carpenter instead of
an electrician many years ago....

THANK YOU in advance for ANY help, advice, etc. etc. etc...!!
Later, Snacks...

ever wonder why you see all those 65 riv's with the headlights permanantly open? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

ho about a 1/4 in drive ratchet with a power driver tip? or sears has a real flat ratcheting wrench that takes the power driver tips.

i'm no help on where the relay is, but i would think it could be either the relay or the motor itself thats bad.

good luck!

are you a member of ROA? if not you should be, very good help from them.

I'll try it out...Thanks..!

I just don't want to have to unbolt the whole clamshell
assembly just to change a friggin' headlight..!!

The gayest part is, the guys at the paint shop told me
that one of the prongs on one the bulbs broke off as they
were reassembling everything...and that I needed a new one..
WHY in the hell would they tell me that AFTER they put it back together..??

Dipshits...
