I purchesed a 29 model a pickup the cab is in real good shape. I do'nt think I'll chop it because I,m over 6' tall. I will chanel it and make it like a no fender primer type rod. The cab has no top on it what do you use to replace it? Plywood with a vinel cover? Or an oak framework with a cover? Or?

I would use oak frame with a cover quick and simple just like the orignal top. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gifPlease post an intro before the intro police tear you apart! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

'29.
Check one of the many Model A parts suppliers for a "Wood Kit" for the truck. These early A's as you know had a lot of wood in them and sometimes you're better off just buying the kit than trying to make something fit.
If you're tall, don't channel it much. I'm only 5'9" and don't have a lot of room in my '28. That's one reason I put it on the back burner was the lack of interior room.

You could probably use some exterior plywood screwed and glued to the top bows and cover it with some naugahide or convertible top material.
Haven't finished mine yet, the top is on my "to do" list still.

Hi stranger, you prolly shouldnt channel. Channel loses interior room as fast as chopping. Z the frame instead.
