I bought a set of wheels at a swap meet and would like to know what they are originally off of.... They are pretty narrow, and 17" .....The guy said he thought they were from a "Nash" but didn't know for sure...If anyone here has an idea let me know. Thanks

They look Chrysler product. Like Airflow to that note. Just look at old pics that are on the net for your best bet. KNUX

I don't know what they are, but they look pretty cool on your hovercraft.

Didja build that, what's your story?

Jevan means youth, in Urdu, I bet you didn't know that?

Yes, this a project I'm currently working on. Its a 33' p/u (I think) sitting on a 33 frame lowered,channeled,chopped,etc... Going with a early 60's theme.......... I'll post some better pictures later.

I believe they are 1934 oldsmobile wheels. http://g.msn.com/9SE/1?http://home.vicnet.net.au/~oldsclub/34coupe.html&&DI=293&IG=bc4539bf14544f1585fe9db295 c537c7&POS=13&CM=WPU&CE=13

Those look really close but the area where my center cap snaps to is removable from the wheel, its raised away from the center and unbolts if you want it to..........I'll post a side shot later.........

Are they a 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern? Look really close to 33 to 36 Willys. Just a stab!

first Welcome, I must have missed your intro

second it might help to know what else you have going on there.

Chevy spindles with buick drums?

it's hard to tell,

throw the dog a bone here, what's the rest of the set up?

They are slightly different than what has been used in the past. They are definitly cool and if the rest of the build follows through they could help make a statement. Not unlike the ones Shine used on his trend setting truck.

Did you get those at the GG swap in Indy?? I saw a set there just like those but they had NASH caps.

JEVAN

Yep, thats exactly where I got them, and yes they do have Nash caps but every old picture of a Nash I find is really close but not on the money....Go figure.....Besides my buddys 35'-36' ford caps fit perfectly, which lead me to believe that they may not be what the cap says..........

I've got some more photos but they are on my camera at home. I may wait until I finish chopping my doors tonight and put them back on before I put up any more pics so that it will look a little more complete.....Better idea of what it may end up looking like............

If I would have had a way to get them home I would have picked them up. Damn they still look cool!

I don't know anything about the wheels, but I was curious as to what year spindles and backing plates you used. What kind of modifications did you have to do? I'm lookin to get a little better brake setup than the early Ford and I don't want to pay the price for the Lincoln brakes.

JEVAN

I'm not 100% sure because I bought the whole front end used but I think they are around 49' chevy spindles and brakes....I machined the buick drums all the way down until they would work as a dummy cover.....just like the covers you can buy except I used the real ones, they aren't in terrific shape anyway.....Turned out pretty slick for just using what ya' got......As far as how cheap I really don't know, as a matter of fact in speedway catolog the chevy spindles are about $20 higher. Maybe, you could find an old set up like I did ........
