The adapter part is a diecast part that locate the three bolts.
I was told there was not 57 ford, but there is a 58 ford one??? I have put a 57 ford steering wheel on a 58 column before.

On thing to try is if you have a shitty unsalvagable steering wheel is get a Touch & burn all teh plasti off the center hub, cut all the spokes off with a hacksaw & use the center hub to adapt the wheel!! Everyone i've done this with didn't even have to be redrilled , the 3 holes matched up!!

Look in the new Summit catalog pg. 204.

It lists Quick Release (QR)hubs.

A little interpolation will tell you that there's not too many different adapters out there.

The Q.R. hubs listed are for:
Chevy - 11/16" x 36 serration.
Ford - 13/16" x 40 serration.
Chrysler - 11/16" 36 serration.

That tells me that within a particular car company any steering wheel will fit any other steering shaft.

Howe (on the same page) has steering ratio quickeners - which are not important to the this discussion, but they list the ratio quickener for 36 spline shafts and make no mention of whether it's for Chevy or Chrysler.

I'm guessing the difference between the Chevy and Chrysler shafts/wheels may be that one spline is blank so the steering wheel has to key in, in a particular place.
Easily rectified with a file.

being as my Ply still has a cherry gennie wheel on it I have no idea if its splined oR keyed, its not here at the house , so i'll have to wait to take it off , the ford on the other hand is listed ,but not carried by Speedway, maybe check w Auto value tomorrow , IF its not snowing or so danged WINDY.
