I went to a junk yard near Gene Windfield's shop and stopped to say hi.
I worked for him many years ago and he remembered me , he showed me around his many acres of land he's got and even showed me his "Reactor" and "Strip Star" show cars, he even fired up the Strip Star, inside the shipping container Gene keeps it in ,fucking loud!
my camera died before I could get pic.s of it all, here is what I have, enjoy !
his is one of his glass mercs

I was ready to buy one of his glass body Mercs but after looking at it I decided to pass. If anyone would like to see more pics please email me, I won't post them. I was there in May 2002 and took a couple of pics of that same "guy in Japan" Merc, doesn't look like much has been done on it in the last 18 months...

I just got back from there in july. He showed me all around too, fired up all his cars. He was workin on gettin the "THING" ready for bonneville when i was there. He really has some awesome stuff. He told me 5500 for a glass merc if i wanted one.I talk to him alot now,we are pretty good friends......THANKS JAMIE
I got to see old Uncle Gene himself make two passes in the "Thing" at El Mirage earlier this month. I belive he ran 120+ mph. Man, that was bitchin'.
