I'm posting more pix trying to see what works. Sorry if all messed up http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
The rod is a real '30 Ford body channeled over a real '30 Ford frame (not boxed) stepped 3". Running a full house '49 Merc mill, '39 tranny, '34 driveshaft and housing, '47 rear end and dropped '32 front axle. It has a heater and side curtains for all temp. driving which I do when the streets are dry. The car was inspired by the Bishop/Tardel book(thanks again Mike and Vern) with a few deviations such as a high tech seat with springs. (wood and foam too hard on this old butt HA) Really enjoyed the 6 year build and now reeeaaalllly enjoying driving it.
I hope this post works better than my last try!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

AV8,
You have done well, she's purdy. What steering box did you use? If this is clutter, I'm a clutter Junkey..

Jon, I see you got the hang of posting pics. AV8 is looking really good. Now you need to get it out and put some miles on it. You hang with me and Steve and you'll put a lot of miles on it!!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey Wayne, It's a rebuilt 31 Model "A". I tried an F1 truck but too many space problems. I was surprised how well it works.......it ain't no power steering but this is a hot rod! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Thanks for the comments! Jon

Hello Andy, Thanks for the comments! Yeh, it worked a lot better this time!! The other time I had no clue what size to reduce the pix and even this time I had to make some adjustments between replys which took a little time. My rod is on the road most every day but probably won't be the world traveler like yours and Steve's. I sure would like to drive it to the 05 HAMB Drags though, if I ever find out when it is. Do you know if Miles and Marilyn are on this board? Thanks again, Jon
She's a lovely little car, fab work too.
Everything's period correct too, I love it.
Looks sweet, Jon. Glad to have been of help.

I'm not sure I know Miles and Marilyn. Ryan will post the Hamb drags schedule later next year.
Steve and I will be going to the Hot Rod Reunion next year. It's in Bowling Green KY. About a four hour cruise for me and five hour for you. You'll just be getting the engine warmed up by the time you get there.
Keep in touch...theres a lot of stuff going on next summer.

Andy, Miles and Marilyn live in Indy and were awarded the "cruiser of the year" award a few years ago.
Going to the reunion sounds like fun.....is that extra hour for me because I'm farther away or my 3:78 gears?? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi,
what wheelbase does the '30 have?
looks like you have a lot of room between firewall and fuel pump ...?
Thanks
Michael

Thanks for the info. The color looks like a deep burnt orange to me. I think each individual person sees color a little differently. I'll have to check out the local paint store chips.
Thanks again, pigpen

The stock '30 is 103 inches. I moved the front crossmember 3 inches for more space so I wouldn't have to cut up the firewall. That made the wheelbase 106 inches which is the same as a '32. Thanks for the interest! Jon

I'm hoping to drive it to the 05 HAMB drags. In fact, I saw a bunch of pix on another site of the 04 drags and came right to the board to find when they will be. I didn't even think to make a formal intro I was so hyped! Man, all those traditional rods running on a strip right out of the 50s really got my attention!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Hope ta see ya there!!
