Hello All, this is Bob Ashton here to join your forum. I am a Show Manger with Championship Auto Shows, Inc. (The AutoRama and World of Wheels Folks)from Auburn Hills, (Detroit) Michigan.
I just got back from the Houston AutoRama and one of your members told me all about the board.
I currently own a 69 Dodge "Super Bee" clone station wagon, complete with steelies and a nice coat of suede.
I would like to let everyone know about something new at the Detroit AutoRama this year, so please scope out my other post!

Again, welcome Bob! (and Bob 1 and 2 also)...sorry about the profanity on your other post, but Bob Larrivee Sr. was GREAT to us when we finally met him,I didn't see the point in slamming his show .....we found him to be nice, even humble about many things....we got to hear about the early times with his involvement with Roth, and even got to talk to both Barris and Billy G at the same time because he let us back in the office.....this was after Ed passed, and we were not "in" the show.....I think it's wrong to knock what Mr. Larrivee is offering to do.
Again, welcome, and since you asked for suggestions, please stick around.....the people on here who love traditional hot rods & Kustoms are great sources of info and can honestly help with advice on how you guys can make the show features you are adding a success.....

Welcome to the board...
Bob, I always wondered why the West Coast shows just seemed to disappear, lack of interest because of the other indoor shows..) Same with the south, nothing down here????

Thanks Johnny Ace! It is pretty cool working with both Sr. and Jr. and the rest of the CASI staff. We just did the Houston AutoRama and I still can't get the smile off my face. Man...you can only imagine the stories. My face is hurting from laughing so much.
BTW; I am printing all the notes about Sr. to him. I know he is getting a kick out of them. This guy truly bleeds gasoline!

So you know Hatch from back when. He's doing much better now after his little stay at the "home" http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Seriously welcome and thanks for adding the traditional section to the show. Oh, and don't listen to all the dickheads on here that never say anything positive. As you can tell there are a lot of attitudes on here. Just ignore them. I'm sure that the GMBs will support Autorama like we always have.

Not to derail the thread, but just HOW did the term "Gay Michigan Bitches" come to be?
Detroit gave us MOUSE!, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper,Mitch Ryder, the MC5,etc.......
Who coined this term,and why?

Welcome Bob, I'm looking forward to this years Autorama! Last years was my first and it was amazing. Never been to anything like it indoor or outdoor. I always heard for many years it was a great show, what a understatement.
Do you know an old friend of mine, Mike Hoppa? He's a ISCA judge and is a honcho with Chicago's WoW. Call him "Mr. 442", he likes that. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks, Joel. I know of him and may have met him briefly in the past. You know how it is at the shows, (I usually meet like 100 people!). I will indeed be working with him at this years WoW show.
I am headed to Chicago Monday morning for meetings for the Chicago WoW and will of course be there working the show in January. Look me up and introduce yourself.

Hi, Bob I don't if I got to meet you at the Houston Autorama, but I was one of the Gear Grinders who made the trip to Houston from San Antonio. A couple of us spoke with Butch about the show and got some pointers for the show in San Antonio. Good to see you on the board. By the way Butch said he was going to work on getting me one of those Ridler Jackets http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
