I know this has ben discussed in the past but I'm missing something here. I put a new set of 351W heads on my 72 ford 5.0. The heads I used had the non adjustable rockers, I over came that little problem. I have an over heating problem. I have to leave my heater control valve partially open to keep the coolant temp down below 195. I have had the heads off and pressure checked, no problems. I installed a new radiator, changed the thermastat. The engine didn't have a heating problem prior to this and only has about 5K on it. I have compared my heater hose routing to other similiar Fords. Please any ideas are welcome.

If opening your heater control valve has ANY effect on engine temperature, then you're dealing with a minor problem. I bet your radiator is clogged or partially blocked.

We need more information though, is this only at low speed or at all speeds?
