Doug-- I so hope Ican afford one of those clocks someday!
Here's a watercolor I started about 8 years ago, and then jumped back on it this week. It's about 26" x 18", and based off a photo I took about 15 years ago.

A friend of mine died today.
I was going through some items I had saved from when we worked together. He was not a car guy, but he was truly an artist in many ways.
I've never shared these with anyone before.
Anyway here is one of his sketchs and some lyrics that he wrote.

This is the only thing I took pictures of this week and it is basically a pile of parts right now.A 1922 R.E.O. fire truck;the first piece of equipment purchased by the Leland Michigan volunteer fire department. The guy who owns(and is restoring)it grew up in the town and also owns the second piece they bought;a 1947 R.E.O. which I also striped and lettered.Unfortunately the pics of that are huge and I don't know how to re-size them.
Anyway this was done Thursday morning and afternoon in his shop.He even put down the gold leaf striping and letters so basically all I had to do was outline it all in black and fancy up the hood letters.Nothing like working in a steel uninsulated pole barn with a 93 degree ambient air temperature.

here's my first sign work i've done so far, c&c welcome. every year my car club puts on a show and we build our own custom trophies. our club par trophy is always an obnoxious heavy piece. this year's is a concrete based park bench. hope ya like it! So I thought about sharing this photo of my ol' pop, taken by my mom in 1956-57. That's his baby blue '54 Ford Sunliner, white interior and top, new Y-block V8. He was a hydraulics mechanic at Epps Air Service outside of Atlanta. Bad Ass Cool. He's 74. Triple-dipper.

So Cory Moore is a partner in the Austin Speed Shop. He has a new venture on S. Congress in Austin called Luther's. It is a Man's man store and Badass. Our friend James Austin did this for him...James of the awesome green 56 Chevy pickup with the FatLucky's interior from TRJ a few issues back. Who knew....??

Well I don't usually (ok this is the first time) post in this thread, but I check it out a lot. Anyway, I've been wanting to upgrade my crappy home made MS Paint avatar for a long time. While in Japan, I thought it would be cool to have one of the local pin stripers make me up one. So I got in touch with none other than Makoto and this is what he came up with. I am so thrilled! Not sure if it's cool to post others work or not, but I'm definetly not taking credit for it! Now I need to figure out how to take a better pic without glare or reflections and make my avatar. Thanks again Makoto san!

Sorry I'm late. My work schedule is retarded. Great work by everyone, as usual. Each week gets better and better.
I've been doing some sketches during down time at my job. Sorry I don't have any finished pieces this week, but all of these will be inked and/or painted by next Friday. By the way, the steering wheel of a Freightliner makes a really crappy drawing desk. Haha... Also, my scanner is not working, so I had to post photos from my digital camera.
Anyway, without further ado, here's the junk I've been working on....

Ain't that the truth!! If I could make a living drawing and painting, I wouldn't have to sketch on the steering wheel of a filthy truck in the middle of the night. Haha. It's tough out there. No one wants real artists any more. They only want to hire computer animation experts and then pay them 12 bucks an hour. They don't call us "starving artists" for nothing.

Ed, your ability to successfully render surface reflection differences between hard chrome and the softer polished stainless surface is beyond belief; A distinction that would be difficult for the photogropher to achieve. You are a master.

Rig of Mortis, Nice work. By any chance is the engine from a 1/18 scale Muscle Machines? I used to work for Funline who produced Muscle Machines and that engine looks so familiar to me.
Sean
Sean, That's very cool. Too bad about Funline. I have a large collection of Muscle Machines (1/64 scale) and was looking forward to seeing more of Rohan's designs come alive.
Great work to all of you FAS contributors. Another amazing show in the bag.
