Pullin my heads today and emptying the water out of hopefully as few cyls... toasted headgasket...

My sucky factory 1977 manual doesn't have the torque sequence diagram, someone have one in digital format they could post for me?

Torque spec on stock(ish) intake manifold?

Its a mid 60's 327...

I'm gonna loosen the front and back first, then the middle.... is this bad, does untorqueing sequence matter? I'm gonna do 'em gradually....

hopefully someone catches me b4 I screw sumpin up, I'll check in on this once the intake and exhaust are off....

Thanks,

I never wory about the untorquing-a guide for torque sequence wopuld be to start in center and using a circular pattern counterclockwise and wider by one row each time tightening some- then retighten several times rather than all at once- you should be OK- hell I know a guy who just takes an Impact wrench to his and thats worked for him!I think on the 327 it should be 85 lbs tourque at head bolts.

'62-67 327 head orque is 60-70 ft lbs of torque.

sorry but i don't have the digram right now. the sequence does spiral out from the center head bolt.

Call UPS, and ask to speak to the HEAD MECHANIC... he should help you with the specs, and his help will allow you to get your SCALLOPED BROWN BOX truck out of the mid 20's in the quarter....

Torque spec is 70lb/ft. Used bolts should be tightened up to 10% over that figure.
