They put big blocks inthem, so there are motor mounts, crossmembers available. I'm sure someone will have all the info. Sounds like fun!

A 429 is a Lima series big block engine (same as the 460, and also the 370 truck engine). Those engines didn't arrive until 1969, so they were never offered in a 66 Fairlane from the factory.
(Big block 66-67 Fairlanes had FE engines in them, 390 and 427 motors).
The good news is that you can bolt a 429 into a 66 Fairlane very easily using 1971 Torino/Cougar/Mustang mounts, as those cars were available with 429 wedge engines from Ford. The chassis are nearly identical, and other items from these cars can be used to complete the swap. (Trans mounts, radiators, hoses, brackets, etc).
Use factory 1971 Torino 429 manifolds or buy headers for a 71 Torino with a 429 and they'll fit your Fairlane. As swaps go, this is an easy one to pull off simply by using factory parts from a vehicle of slightly later vintage.

Have fun finding the mounts, though. The 429 in the 71's were pretty rare...and 34 years later don't help much. Anyone know of a place repro'ing them?

If I'm recalling the specs correctly, the rubber mount, yes. But most Fords of that era use a rubber mount bolted to the engine and a solid mount that bolts to the frame then the mounts bolt together. The solid is/was only a dealer or salvage part. Maybe a repro part nowdays.

Ahh, damn Ferds. I couldn't believe it when I found the mounts for my Chrysler 300 at Napa, the metal part and all.
Thanks for the info though!

Could be my memory toying with me, but with those chassis, I think the service part (rubber mount) features a stud that goes through a hole in the mounting pad. The service part bolts to the block, and the stud goes through the appropriate hole in the chassis.
Anyhow...service mounts are still available...
Balkamp part # BK 6021695 for the left side, $31.49
Balkamp part # BK 6021694 for the right side, $38.49
I can order 'em a bit cheaper than that if you need 'em...those are retail prices.

Crites performance handles swap parts for this very potent combination. Total Performance in Mich has many hard to find items for these type of combos ph #810-468-3710.
